Warner Brothers has released a new One-Sheet for Tom Cruise’s the Edge of Tomorrow. I didn’t get a chance to see it last week, but it is one this weekend’s agenda.

Synopsis: The epic action of “Edge of Tomorrow” unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.  Major William  Cage  (Tom  Cruise)  is  an  officer  who  has  never  seen  a  day  of  combat  when  he  is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission.  Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again.  But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt).  And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

EDGE OF TOMORROW features Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Brendan Gleeson, Noah Taylor, Kick Gurry, Dragomir Mrsic, Charlotte Riley, Jonas Armstrong, Franz Drameh, Masayoshi Haneda, and Tony Way.
EDGE OF TOMORROW arrives in 3D and 2D in select theaters and IMAX on June 6th, 2014.

Is Edge of Tomm IMAX worthy?

MMmmmmm I dunno really.  You talking about the normal theater IMAX or the 3 story tall IMAX?  It's really good.  But wouldn't throw down your bank account to see it.

I saw it in IMAX 3-D but I certainly don't think there's anything about it that says it must be seen that way.  I'm an old guy my kids are grown, no debts...a extra few bucks per ticket really isn't a big deal for me, but I remember when I was younger and struggling to make ends meet when that might not have been the case.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that...I'm sure the film can be thoroughly enjoyed without IMAX or 3-D.

It's not the greatest movie ever made but me and the people I went with, all really enjoyed it...Cruise is excellent as usual,,,it's loaded with edge of your seat action ...the alien monsters are super cool...and they don't blow 15 minutes of the flick setting up a sequel or advertising another movie.
