A new poster for the film arrives

IMDB posted the new poster for Neill Blomkamp’s (District 9) film Elysium. Check out the poster of Matt Damon’s Max. The new Sci-Fi film arrives this August!

The Plot: In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Elysium arrives August 9th, 2013

Wow... this, Oblivion and Will Smith's new one all seem so similar.

I understand where you're coming from, but the plots are very different.  But I like this poster.  Interesting.

This comes out and James Cameron back burners Battla Angel. Not belittling this movie. I am interested in seeing it. Its just very similar premise of Battle angel

God I hope this movie flops if for no other reason than its going to be nothing more than a "Rich People/Successful People Evil, Poor Destitute People Good."  Its going to be full of far left bullsh*t more than likely which is why Matt  Damon (who is joining Sean Penn, and others in the whacko actors who can't shut their yaps when it comes to politics department).

Damon is having a hard time selling a movie with himself in it anymore, and Foster has not had a hit in years so I doubt this movie will do well honestly. and if it doesn't, good I say.

@akiraakobus, I'm still hoping that the movie is good, but I agree with your statements regarding Sean Penn and Matt Damon.  I'm so sick of these clowns constantly forcing their leftwing political rhetoric down our throats every time someone sticks a camera in their face.

Totally different plots, no clue what ur saying mitchell.  But happy more sci-fi is coming.  That said I don't get this poster at all.

In each of the three movies, Earth is abandoned (for the most part) and the majority of society lives off planet... Really - You had no clue what I meant?

I'm all for more quality sci-fi, however I do like variety... I don't want good sci-fi movies killing each other off, forcing us to have to wait years for more good sci-fi movies to get green-lit.

Anyone else notice that the flying vehicles in this (trailer) look very similar to the "pilot" space craft from District 9?
