There hasn't been much to report on Bruce Willis' upcoming sci-fi thriller Surrogates until now. The production companies, Touchstone and Walt Disney, are looking to launch a new campaign on their film, which hits theaters this September. While getting prepared to unleash the film at the New York Comic Con on Saturday, the studio has launched a new viral website called, which is based around the fictional company that creates the surrogates in the film. Click on the link to check it out.

The film stars Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, James Francis Ginty, Boris Kodjoe and Ving Rhames. Director Jonathan Mostow led production, based on a screenplay by Michael Ferris and John Brancato.

Plot Summary: FBI agents (Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell) investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves—fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles—enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. The murder spawns a quest for answers: in a world of masks, who's real and who can you trust?

Surrogates will hit theaters September 25, 2009.

I wonder if they're going for a Blade Runner noir kind of feel and look. That I could definitely go for and fits Willis perfectly. Either way I'll be checking this out. Though the Sept. release date seems kind of questionable. Usually a month for semi-duds at best.

I thought this was going to be a live-drama with a Ghost In The Shell, SAC - like plot, i.e. (people were going to be able to put their brains into Younger, Sexier, Stronger, whatever they Wanter (hehe) cyborg bodies and start living la vida loca.  If they are only living vicariously through robots, their lifes still suck, but now they have this shoved in their faces 24/7 as they watch their "robotic selves"  making friends and/or scoring with people who wouldn't give them the time of day before.  Add to that:  never leaving your house, never interacting with people in "reallife" not even their parents, other close relatives & friends (because old robo boy or girl is you now, and I bet a lot of people would kill themselves after a while. I guess I will just have to see the movie to get these & more questions answered.  Here's hoping they portray it realistically & a lot of people shoot themselves.

It's kinda cool when you went to the same elementary/middle school with Robert Venditti.
