I just did a Transporter marathon, and the firs tone was great,,,,the second one was ok, it lacked something the first had....this one looks pretty good actually. It looks like they really ramped up the action.....thank god Jason Statham makes mindless action movies, he is the new Van Damme/Segal.....I would love to see a movie with him and Mark Decascos (if you could tear him away from Iron Chef America).

I'm stoked. I was never a huge fan of those absurd action films like the Die Hard series and especially the new Rambo movie. I just find The Transporters a non-stop adrenaline rush. Jason Statham is better than Segal and Van Dam. I don't fall asleep like a Segal movie and I can actually understand what Statham is saying unlike Van Dam. It'll be a good flick to see over Thanksgiving.

Is there not a word in French that means "The Happening"? Why the hell did they change the name of the movie to "Phenomenes"?
It does look better than I thought it would. I enjoyed the first two, so this should be cool to watch. I find it hilarious that someone would say that they were "stoked2 for this movie, but call movies like Die Hard "absurd action films". Yes, because The Transporter is totally seeded in reality based action. Too Funny!!

Pony, come on the Diehards are absurd action movies, albeit totally kick ass and awesome....but they are not sooo over-the-top like The Transporter movies. I think both series are fun in diffrent ways.

This actually looked like a cross between 'The Transporter' and 'Crank'. With the style and fighting scenes and then the disorientation scene and the wrist braclet threatening his life. Not that I mind, I enjoyed both of those movies... for what they are: Adrenaline Action. Die Hard, Rambo, etc, these movies are action from a different era... back when they had more storyline. I never got into Segal or VanDamme so I won't get into that one. I do agree with the rest of you guys, Jason Stathom is a really good action star. I can't wait for 'The Brazilian Job' to come out. I was disappointed with 'War' though. As soon as I heard that Jet Li was in it too, I immediatly started thinking about all the intense action... but blahhhhh. Not so much. Oh well.

captm0rgan, man, it's like you read my mind. My thoughts exactly, except for the Jet Li part. Once I hear he's involved doubt starts creeping in.
Looking forward to this and Death Race. Statham just has "it" when it comes to action stars.

The Transporter series was likely inspired by BMW's 'The Hire' Series with Clive Owen, which appeared as a series of mini-movies on the BMW website to promote their vehicles.

Each segment was directed by big name hollywood director, featuring Clive Owen as the mysterious driver who would transport passengers in a brand new BMW, and usually found himself in some dangerous situation which involved a lot of car chases.

The funniest one was the webisode "The Star", directed by Guy Ritchie,in which Owen is contracted to transport an obnoxious celebrity(co-star Madonna as "The Star"), and ends up giving her the ride from from hell! The last scene was the best, as the Driver brings the BMW in to a dramatic 180 skid/stop in front of the theater, forcing 'The Star' to fall out of the back seat onto the pavement in front of the awaiting paparazzi who snap pictures of her after having pissed herself!

Also check out episodes 6,7,and 8 which were produced by Tony and Ridley Scott
