Nintendo's redesigned portable gaming unit, dubbed the Game Boy Advance SP, is set to debut on store shelves this coming weekend. The sleek unit, featuring a compact folding design and a front-lit screen, is backwards compatible and able to play all existing Game Boy titles. When it debuted in Japan last month, the GBA SP model quickly sold out.

The company has sold 12 million Game Boy Advance units in the U.S. since its release two years ago. The new SP unit will be available in two colors, cobalt or platinum, and is priced at $99.00. Cinescape's own James Stevenson reviewed the SP last week, and in case you missed it, you can read James' review right here.
