Boxing Glove!! Boxing Glove!!

I'm looking forward to this, but I'm still not a fan of the suit, ring or lantern design. I'm sure that once I see them in the context of the whole movie I'll forget about my misgivings. I really want this movie to do well so DC puts other comic-based scripts into production. I am a little concerned that recent trailers haven't shown Blake Lively at all. I read an article that noted her performance in the film left a lot to be desired. Hopefully the film can be edited in sucha way that her performance won't hurt the film.

I think my biggest problem with what Ive seen so far is that it looks like Renolds hed was clipped out of a magazine and pasted onto a cartoon body. Im not a hater and I do hope the film is good but it really comes off a little "weak" to me.

I want to see someone get decked with a baseball bat construct or caught with a baseball glove construct.

 Passing on this one

About the costume...

This movie is a sci-fi adventure.  It has aliens, distant worlds, a super-weapon.  Would it make sense for the main character to be running around in a dance leotard?  And white gloves?  How would he keep them clean?

In 1964, Gil Kane had a 16-color palette to work with when he designed the Silver Age GL.  I'll bet he would have made it more sci-fi-looking if he could have.  Let's not impose the limitations of the original medium on the 2011 film.

Give the costume a break!

Okay, I'm done.  :)

Most sense I've heard in a while, Batmite.

On that note, I too thought that it looked like his head is pasted to a body.  I really want this movie to be awesome so, I don't know, maybe it's the stills that's not doing the CGI justice.  Hopefully when everything is in motion it'll look sweet.

Didn't Hal use a glove in the alley fight? Check the trailer again. The pictures are nice, but Ryan's is so stoic for using a thought-mini-gun. :P

@Batmite, how is the cgi different from a leotard costume except that a real costume  would look more authentic. Reynolds has the body of a superhero, slap on a well fitting costume ala Superman and only have a glow around the costume when he's flying or something of that sort.

For the record I have nothing against cgi as most know, but the costume remains the biggest distraction IMO. Like I said Reynolds has a body that doesn't need to hide under a cgi suit plus it was an expense they could've done without. And there's no reason why they couldn't still say that the costume was ring construct.

My only gripe about the suit is that it looks like his head has been added on, but none of the completely CG characters look like this, when they should (as their suits are ring constructs, too.)

Yeah he looks like a live action head in a sea of CGI images. If this film fails this will be it's biggest downfall.
