With Thor having successfully launched into international markets overseas and poised to hammer his way into U.S. theaters tonight and tomorrow, Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed the new Green Lantern trailer that should be attached to it. Check out this latest trailer down below courtesy of Yahoo Movies. And sound off with your thoughts.

The action-adventure stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins, Temuera Morrison, Jay O. Sanders, Taika Waititi, Jon Tenney, Geoffrey Rush and Michael Clarke Duncan. Helmer Martin Campbell led the direction, based on a screenplay by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Goldenberg.

Plot Concept: In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Reynolds). Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Green Lantern will fly into 3D/2D theaters June 17, 2011.

Looks dope but I aint feeling the smoke monster.

Still looks ok but again, Marvel will win over DC for sure.

Bryzarro 5/5/2011 5:57:50 AM

Still pumped about this.  And i don't think DC is looking to top Marvel at all.  GL isn't in their top 3 hero's.  Batman, Superman, and Wonder Wonam are their trinity.  Thor and Cap are Marvel Icons.

It's a no brainer they will come out on top.

But i'm glad we are getting these updated Trailers.  I'm loving the additions.  But a flamethrower that spits out Orange fire not green fire.....HAHA oh well.  Minor details.

The smoke monster is Parallax and I don't like that they made him look like FF's Galactus

I love Green Lantern and I hope this films kicks major ass but some of the cgi still worries me. It just isn't AVATAR quality. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the extra money they recently put into the cgi and that watching it on a huge I-Max screen makes it look better

Outside of that the movie's tone and look, especially Oa's, fills me with some optimism

I was always a Marvel zombie and I still lean heavily towards Marvel's characters but I love DC too. I don't understand this supposed competition, one's succes doesn't hinder the other. In fact as comic book fans we should be rooting for all these films to succeed.

Looks good, but some of the shots of GL in his suit look very cartoonish to me.  Some shots are ok, but others... meh.  Still really looking forward to this, though.

As far as DC vs Marvel... who gives a crap!  We have long overdue superheroes on the big screen.... WHOO HOOO!

Still looks like Green Wilder to me.

yeah i knew it was paralax still dont dig him in smoke monster form ala galactus like u mentioned.

ive never understood the marvel vs dc thing but i rarely read comics so that may be why.  comics are for children, i prefer more manly things like playing video games :)

I was gonna say that the smoke monster may be Shuma Gorath but then I realized that was Marvel. My bad. I think this looks pretty good myself.

It will be interesting to see how Green Lantern turns out.  Warner Bros. doesn't have a good history of adapting any comicbook that isn't Batman.  Have they finally learned how to do it right by watching Marvel Studios' example, or have they screwed things up by the numbers yet again?  If Green Lantern is a success, then maybe WB will begin to produce more quality DC movies.  The characters of DC Comics have been left in the realm of animated series for far too long.

I'm excited for this one.  I think the effects look amazing.  I wish I hadn't watched it actually because I feel like I've seen too much.  Seeing as the release date is so close I'm sure most of these are final shots.  While they might not be up to Avatar level effects, they are still really good and have a consistent look to them so nothing stands out as a bad effect.
