A new trailer has appeared online for I AM LEGEND courtesy of Kino. This the second trailer released, the original hitting the web back on June 7, 2007. The film, based on Richard Matheson's novel, was directed by Francis Lawrence (Constantine) and the screenplay was handled by Mark Protosevich & Akiva Goldsmith. It stars Will Smith, Alice Braga, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Willow Smith and Charlie Tahan.

Plot Summary: Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable... and manmade. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City... and maybe the world. But he is not alone. He is surrounded by "the Infected"—victims of the plague who have mutated into carnivorous beings who can only exist in the dark and who will devour or infect anyone or anything in their path. For three years, Neville has spent his days scavenging for food and supplies and faithfully sending out radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. All the while, the Infected lurk in the shadows, watching Neville's every move, waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But his blood is also what The Infected hunt, and Neville knows he is outnumbered and quickly running out of time.

This looks bad ass. It looks as good as the original, hell...It looks better. (But I love Vincent Price)

Looks awesome. Kinda surprised Warner Bros is releasing it in December, but if AVP 2 is coming out on Christmas Day I suppose studios are more open to non-traditional holiday movie fare than in the past.

Keep in mind that all LOTR movies came out a week or two before X-mas and look at how they fared. And these obviously weren't traditional holiday flicks. It seems that most X-mas movies are released in November, so they have Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season to pull families in.
As for the trailer it just looks awesome. But then again I wouldn't expect anything less from Smith. He has that magical touch about what projects to choose. The only thing I'm left hoping for is that Sam makes it.

Looks like an awesome movie. I don't think well be seeing much of the famous Will Smith wise cracking in this one.

Now that's what I am talking about...In unrelated news, if none of you have had a chance to see Sean Penn's new movie INTO THE WILD it is incredible and Emile Hirsch is beyond awesome in it...It has nothing to do with Sci Fi or Fantasy but good all the same....

That is definitely a Bad Ass trailer. I still like the fact that they aren`t really giving us a good look at the infected. This is going to be really good and yeah, 5 mins of The Dark KNight. Awesome!!

I think everyone here knows what I think of remakes, but I must admit, this one looks to be damned good. I think I'm actually gonna see this one in the theaters. I like Will Smith. This doesn't look to be a "Smithian Quib" vehicle, where he spouts a bunch of one liners, and is true to the original story. I must say, for once, I'm actually excited for a remake!
