A new international poster for Hellboy II: The Golden Army has popped up online courtesy of Universal Pictures and Empire Online. Click the link to see the full new poster. The upcoming sequel stars Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Doug Jones, Luke Goss, Seth MacFarlane, Anna Walton, Brian Steele, Roy Dotrice and John Hurt. Director Guillermo del Toro, who is currently scripting out the Hobbit prequels, once again penned the screenplay for his Hellboy movie franchise and directed for Universal.

Plot Summary: With a signature blend of action, humor and character-based spectacle, the saga of the world's toughest, kitten-loving hero from Hell continues to unfold in "Hellboy II: The Golden Army." Bigger muscle, badder weapons and more ungodly villains arrive in an epic vision of imagination from Oscar®-nominated director Guillermo del Toro ("Pan's Labyrinth," "Hellboy").

After an ancient truce existing between humankind and the invisible realm of the fantastic is broken, hell on Earth is ready to erupt. A ruthless leader who treads the world above and the one below defies his bloodline and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures. Now, it's up to the planet's toughest, roughest superhero to battle the merciless dictator and his marauders. He may be red. He may be horned. He may be misunderstood. But when you need the job done right, it's time to call in Hellboy (Ron Perlman).

Along with his expanding team in the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Development--pyrokinetic girlfriend Liz (Selma Blair), aquatic empath Abe (Doug Jones) and protoplasmic mystic Johann--the BPRD will travel between the surface strata and the unseen magical one, where creatures of fantasy become corporeal. And Hellboy, a creature of two worlds who's accepted by neither, must choose between the life he knows and an unknown destiny that beckons him.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army will hit theaters July 11, 2008.

Crappy poster, with a capitol Crap, and a pile of crap on the side.

It's craptastic.

It's beyond that it's Craptacular.

Now to be fair, I've never found Selma Blair that attractive. She's a fine actress, but this poster looks like the cover of a women's novel. A crappy woman's novel with crap on the cover.

Have I mentioned I think this looks like crap.

If I was in vegas I would see this on a craps table.

This poster might have fallen out of someone's rear end.

Other than that it's great.

Agree about S.Blair, she looks like a dyke to me, not that there's anything wrong with that.

almostunbiased, I was wondering, what do you think of this poster? and don't hold back.

Yeah it looks like a piss poor poster in my regard. No passion like she wants him only thats shes.....with him. Ugh. Maybe she has something else on the side! She needs a pose that says look at me I'm hot sweaty and just hot.

Did I mention Hot and Sweaty?

Yeah, wiseguy, I could elaborate a little, but basically the poster is crap.

It looks like part of a poster to me. It's like they took the top quarter of a larger ensemble poster and turned it into a thumbnail. Not nearly as cool as the one-sheet they released a few weeks ago of Red by himself. Definitely not the best one I've seen for this film.

Really I don't care, I love the character, I love the comics, I loved the first film, and this one looks to blow the previous one out of the water. Mike Mignola is the man, and Del Toro damned near walks on water in my book. Too bad he didn't direct Blade 3. Maybe Wesley would have been able to pay his taxes. Kinda' curious as to what's going to happen with this franchise with Del Toro residing in Middle Earth for the next 4 years. I really hope they don't hand it off to some choad like Fox did with X3.

I think Selma Blair is beautiful in an unconventional way. Sure she's no Scarlett Johansen, but she's hardly the bottom of the barrel. She fits the character of Liz Sherman perfectly though. Has anybody seen who's playing Corrigan?
