Think the poster is great. You could have had another standard supes poster with him flying in space or looking over a city or some shit but instead the marketing people have decided to use one of the movies likely unique plot elements (superman surrendering to authorities willingly) and putting that on the poster basically telling the audience this isn't going to be a typical superman movie. I'm excited to see this.

There is a new interview with Nolan.

"Well, somewhat," Nolan told The Playlist. "But I wouldn't want people to think we're doing for Superman what we did for Batman.

"It's very much Zack's film and I think people are going to love what he's done. I think it's really remarkable to take on that character. Superman is a completely different character than Batman. So you can't in anyway use the same template. But David Goyer had this, I thought, brilliant way to make Superman relatable and relevant for his audience. Zack has built on that and I think it's incredible what he's putting together. He's got a lot of finishing to do on that. Superman is the biggest comic book character of them all and he needs the biggest possible movie version which is what Zack's doing. It's really something."

Ever since the announcement of the Justice League film, Nolan's involvement has been long rumored. When asked if he could take on a Joss Whedon-like role for WB, he laughed and gave the non-answer of "Well, as I've said, and I'll say definitively again, I am done with the Batman films, the trilogy is completed. It ended in the manner we had envisioned."

Even though we won't get to see Man of Steel until next summer, and Justice League for a few more years, the folks involved are very proud of what they've done even if they won't say what it is.

"It afforded me a wonderful opportunity to put a specific thing in the minds of 14 year-old boys," said Russell Crowe to MTV about playing Superman's father, Jor-El. "And that is that the bravest thing you can do, the most important thing you can ever do, is love."

cool shit Axia,

That's enough for me to be confident!

I like this poster, it's totally different, Superman has surrendered in the past, he's all about honour and that's what this poster shows.  I think it's also an indication of that fact that we know nothing about this movie.

Yeah, it is all "super" good news.  LOL  Snyder Nolan Bro's Superman = Epic Win

lazarus 12/4/2012 3:23:17 PM

I will be interested to see if the rumors are true and that Superman will be speaking with a British (Kryptonian) accent. Axia the team that did Green Lantern were proud of what they did also. That really gives no extra credibility to the film. I am not really sure why all of you are getting hard ons for this poster.

I am so tired of having to inject angst into every character. Teenage angst, vigilante agnst, now Superman agnst. God why do we have to constantly deal with these characters that have more emotional problems than a mental patient. Either that or they are naive morons. (see Superman Returns). That is why I loved the first Superman. Clark Kent was the MASK. Superman was his true self and even though he had questions about his hertiage, he kicked ass when it came time to get to it.

You know why I want DC to fail? Because I want them to START OVER and figure out what the fans want. Suck it up and learn from the Marvel template. If you follow it then we will support you. Other wise you will be putting out more gems like Steel and Catwoman.

 You saw the movie already?

lazarus 12/4/2012 3:27:51 PM

Axia, you have not even seen the movie yet... how can you know it is an "epic win"? Are you exicted or just want to see his skin tight body suit?

The biggest issue with Superman is he is essentially a God amongst men. What do you really put him up against to challenge him? Really? That is why intelligent villians work better. A smarter villian makes for a better fight. Need proof? Look at Batman/DarkSied fight in Superman/Batman Apocolypse. he actually beat him even though he has no powers. Again, powers/strength mean nothing against intelligence. Beat the opponent before they make a move.

Superman is going to rock. Snyder is master of the action and superhero genre.

He'll be up against a smart villain in Zod and at the same time having to try to win over the public's trust (guessing here) makes for a good mix of action and drama

axia777 12/4/2012 3:45:32 PM

lazarus - If you have not yet read them you should go read the two graphic novels Incorruptible and Irredeemable. It gives a good view on what it would be like to really be a super hero with Superman's level of power.

As far as the poster goes I don't really like it either. It is boring, but interesting.

Wiseguy 12/4/2012 3:46:52 PM

Almost all superheroes have angst. That is if you're using the broadest definition of the word. All of Marvel's did. If there wasn't any they'd just be cardboard cut outs acting robotic without worry
