The power of teenage girls and adult women who drag their boyfriends to movies.  Never underestimate it...I'm so happy the mrs. never got into those books or movies.   I'm one of the few lucky ones.

God I Hate "Glampires"!!!!!

this...sigh....could've been better

I sat in the theater, and for the first 30 minutes, I kept thinking to myself "there's an ineffable quality that's missing...something's not right...something's just not here"

a better director is needed...a vision is required...and, most of all, passion and vitality need to be placed into said vision and direction...not to mention a better visual style

I always say that there isn't much I'd change in the first adaptation...the more I think about it, the more I'd modify more and more sequences, extend others, and ramp up several of them

I posted a blog on this last night...it still feels like "recitation," as I'd termed it

and that's about all it is -- it's a movie on autopilot and it has to stem from the fact Summit pushed this and Eclipse through as fast as they can, and the attitude of just slap a successful director into the chair and, voila, instant gold

the box office result is instant gold, but the effort put into it is fool's gold...now I wait to see if the next director can undo this mess Weitz and Summit have created

A better director wont help this garbage. The books are poorly written. You cant make gold from wood.

It's official:  the world as we know it is now controled by the simpletons.  Batman and Harry Potter taken down by 'boys that sparkle' and topless werewolf wannabees?  I only hope there is some quality movie on the horizon that will toss aside the tween vampire's hold on the record and demote this insipid franchise to nothing more than a footnote in cinema's history.

Apparently tween run the world now. 2012 has come early.

when something else rakes in the dough, it's just simpleton trash, exploitation, stupidity, and "could we please have something we like instead? we hold the remote controls, damn it! we're the ones who built Hollywood, not them!"

it's right up there with that one girl who spent a few minutes going "Star Wars Sucks!" and just repeated it a time or two, as if that was the end of the discussion and her world view was all that mattered.....she must be a Maniac in training.....

I considered turning to her and giving the rebuttal to end all rebuttals (Just like I do for these guys) but I think her parents would've thrown me to the teenaged girls on the opposite side of the theater and proclaimed that I said something like "Jacob is gay and would never touch a girl if his life depended on it"

oh yes....I also hated that one brief scene where Edward and Bella are running through the forest, in somewhat preppie dress, in a pseudo "John!" "Marcia" sequence......that should've been cut completely....who the hell approved that sequence?

"Glampires"... HAHAHAHAHA!!!  I like that!

I like referring to them as "the bedazzled undead."

These movies are awful, and the way women (particularly grown women!) fawn over them is nauseating.
