MAD MAX director George Miller has attached himself to two projects in development at Warner Bros. The one that has been kicking around the longest is THE SPARROW, a tale of the disasterous first contact between a representative of humanity and an alien race. The movie is based on the novel by Mary Doria Russell and was first optioned seven ago. It has been in development hell ever since. A new script will be written by Michael Seitzman. Also involved with the project now is the producing company Plan B, which is owned by Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Brad Grey. Perhaps Pitt and Aniston's involvement can bring some new heat to this project.
Seitzman and Miller are also collaborating on THE BRAVE ONE, described by The Hollywood Reporter as a female version of DEATH WISH. Seitzman is rewriting the original script, which was done by the father-and-son team of Rod and Bruce Taylor
Miller was supposed to be knee-deep in post-production on the fourth MAD MAX movie by now but it looks like plans for THUNDER ROAD have been scrapped.
