Warner Bros./New Line has revealed a new poster for A Nightmare on Elm Street courtesy of MySpace. Check it out down below. The first teaser, released last fall, is also down below. You can also check out four new photos here. The upcoming remake will star Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Katie Cassidy and Connie Britton. Director Samuel Bayer helmed the horror production from a screenplay by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer.
Plot Concept: A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another...but when they sleep, there is no escape.
A Nightmare on Elm Street will hit theaters April 30, 2010.
Here's the new poster.

This looks like its going to be far more realistic in the hack n slash... so that means its going to be a true horror film. I wonder if he will retain his witty humor though?
If it keeps the witty humor to a minimum, like the first couple of movies, it'll be good. Once they went over the top with it, it seemed to bog down for me.
I am really looking forward to this.
I read that its not going to have any humor type like the old Freddy. That this remake is going to be more a serious darker version Freddy. So I doubt we are going to have any wise cracking Freddy in this new movie.
why wont they show his face?! What is the studio trying to hide? Every poster or pic that comes out they wont show his face. Is that the big thrill to drum up interest? Guess its working lol. Got me lol.
The whole point of this one is to get rid of the humor and b/s. Make it more like the original Nightmare aka part 1 when it was actually scarey.
Im all for that. Bring it on. I'll give it a look see.
Usually I'm anti-remake......however for some reason I'm down w/ this. Actually looking forward to it.
Yeah, I joke a lot about munchkin Freddy Kreuger but I still plan on seeing this. Especially if they stay away from all that corny humor
This look of Freddy actually looks creepy. I've seen actual burn victims with the scars left from them. And they used to creep me out as a kid. I felt sorry for them at the time and tried not to make it a big deal, but your mind can't help but imagine how creepy the burn scars look.
No thanks. Looks stupid. I'll stick with the 80's original.
