 In Norse mythology, Odin has two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, that do his bidding..

 Im Avengers A raven flies over Thor and Loki on top of the mountain, this may be that Odin was keeping watch over Thor. I hope the ravens play a big part in the new movie.

Your right about that scene in Avengers horcruxx.  In the directors commentary Whedon explained that they were Odin's Ravens keeping an eye on Thor and Loki.
