Not really a hell of lot going on this evening in the genre news department..other then some sites tripping over each other to provide illegal copies of the new Star Trek teaser from Youtube. Some have very shitty quality and they will get taken down when Paramount finds their links. Expect an official HD trailer online in the next few days.. In the meantime, Shock Til You Drop got their hands on the first poster for the upcoming Hell Ride, which is being presented by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Larry Bishop. The poster definitely has that B-movie "grindhouse" feel to it..

The film stars Larry Bishop, Michael Madsen, Eric Balfour, Vinnie Jones, Julia Jones, Michael Beach, Leonor Varela, Francesco Quinn and Alison McAtee. Bishop handled the directing, based on a screenplay that he wrote. Dimension Films is premiering the film at the Sundance Festival.

Plot Summary: Larry Bishop will star as bad-ass biker Pistolero, who along with his brother The Gent (Michael Madsen) and Comanche (Eric Balfour), hit the road to avenge the death of Pistolero’s old lady Cherokee Kisum (Julia Jones), by the 666ers a rival motorcycle gang.

That Star Trek teaser really has nothing to show. Just the final stages of construction of the Enterprisewhich you had an actual still of earlier this week I believe.
As for this Hell Ride sounds like a pretty cool idea. The kind of movie I would expect from Tarantino, let's hope Bishop can do it justice.
mckracken, if I'm not mistaken he is the owner of the strip bar where M.Madsen works as a bouncer in Kill Bill 2

Tarantino is turning into a Bruckeimer.
Use his name to promote Tarantino look a like style movie. If you want to help director start of ok but it is turning into a joke as for my self. If only his movies were as good as they all are supposed to be.
As for me This guy as now become more Hype then quality. A la Rodriguez. Kill Bill was amazing. he wrote good stuff but enough. When Speilberg produces a movie, it is not always of the same style or genre as his. This guy here.....whoah

This is actually sounds cool. I'll see it, and probably enjoy it like I did "Death Proof"....

Cool casting too.

HellRide sounds like what happened to the producers after they saw the boxoffice gross of Grindhouse last year. Death Proof was dreadful and I have no interest in any more movies from the overrated Quentin Tarantino.

When I saw this title it reminded me of a girlfriend I had once.

Seeing by the poster that Balfour's biker gang is called "Victors" I predict the following line in the movie:
"To the Victors... go the spoils"

Looking forward to it. The movie does not seem like your typical hollywood film and I like the casting as well.

Call me a chump but I am down with whatever Rodriguez and Tarantino do.

Moz, I like your prediction.

I think this could be decent. At least it's an untapped genre of film; I don't remember the last biker film to be released. Hopefully Wildhogs doesn't count...

The Grindhouse thing needs to end.
Emulating bad films isn't brilliant and it isn't all that entertaining, as Death Proof illustrated last year. I liked Planet Terror but overall this whole movement to create new grindhouse works seems redundant given that's all Tarantino's work has ever really been, save Pulp Fiction.
