With less than a month to go before Sony Screen Gems unleashes Priest into 3D theaters across the nation, the studio and Yahoo Movies have rolled out a new clip for their apocalyptic adventure. Check it out in the video player below along with the previously revealed trailer. The film stars Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Lily Collins, Christopher Plummer, Steven Moyer and Brad Dourif. Director Scott Stewart led the production, based on a screenplay he wrote with Cory Goodman.

Plot Concept: "Priest," a western-fused post-apocalyptic thriller, is set in an alternate world -- one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.

Priest stakes out 3D/2D theaters May 13, 2011.

Nice rope dart scene. Good moves, Maggie Q.

I think this film has the misfortune of being scheduled just a week after THOR.

Boy that second clip didn't allay some of the fears I had from the first one.  The first clip was bad enough with the stupid posing done by the title character, a concept that has been permeating our superhero movies the past few years.  About as ridiculous as the spate of movies we had to endure wherein a building/car/other object explodes as the character walks away from it - without turning around to look as the explosion goes off!  Please, Hollyweirdos - reitre this lame concept.

In the second clip, we see "impossible physics" rearing its ugly head - yeah, you're going to be able to hurl a lightweight metal chain 10 yards ahead with enough force (not to say quickness, given how fast the motorcycles were going) that the metal chain wilil wrap itself around the motorcycle, and then the character has enough strength to get the motorcycle, which again is coming at her at a great rate of speed (and thus not allowing a lot of tightness on the chain) to lift the motorcycle into the other motorcycle approaching - again at great speed - from the opposite direction.  Foolish egotistical director at work.
