With just a month to go before Sony Screen Gems reveals the 3D adaptation of Priest to genre fans across the nation, the studio and Yahoo Movies have rolled out a second full trailer for the release. Watch it in the video player down below and chime in with your thoughts. The action-horror tale stars Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Lily Collins, Christopher Plummer, Brad Dourif and Steven Moyer. Helmer Scott Stewart (Legion) led from the director's chair, based on a screenplay he wrote with Cory Goodman.

Plot Concept: "Priest," a western-fused post-apocalyptic thriller, is set in an alternate world -- one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.

Priest will invade 3D/2D theaters May 13, 2011.

skitzoid77 4/12/2011 5:11:51 PM

I agree with madmaniac.......good story, good cast, good trailer........I'm all in!!!!!!

Wiseguy 4/12/2011 5:25:39 PM

And I agree with skitzoid which means that I agree with madmanic.

The thing that  over shadows this is that Thor opens the week before and will probably be still going pretty strong

SmokingFrog77 4/12/2011 5:53:53 PM

Pumped for this!

CaptAmerica04 4/12/2011 8:45:23 PM

I agree with Wiseguy, agreeing with skitzoid, agreeing with madmanic.  LOL.

I also agree with Wiseguy's concern that Thor will conflict with Priest and the two will both possibly lose a little box office in the overlap.

With that said, I think this movie looks like it'll be badass.  I plan to spend substantial money seeing both of these (likely repeatedly) in the theaters.
