20th Century Fox and director Ridley Scott have revealed new trailers for Prometheus this weekend. One was the domestic trailer shown off at the WonderCon event in California while the other is a new international trailer. Check them both out down below and sound off with your opinions. You can also watch a new viral video from Weyland Industries here.

The sci-fi adventure stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron. Helmer Ridley Scott led from the director's chair, based on a story he developed with writers Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts.

Prometheus crashes into 3D/2D/IMAX theaters on June 8, 2012.

Here's the new International trailer...

And here's the new Domestic trailer...

So I'm guessing that Rapace's character is some sort of geologist or anthropologist, assumes cave drawings are an invitation from outer space beings when in fact it appears that earth is merely a target of their "terraforming" maybe using the xenomorphs or something of the like.
Could it be that ship carrying the space jockey (part of these advanced God like beings) is hauling the alien eggs to earth to cleanse it but at the end of this film they manage to sabotage that mission to save the earth. Which ends up being the ship discovered in Alien

My heart is beating a little faster, breaths a little deeper, pulse a little more pronounced...yeah all the signs are there, this film is gonna rock

Looks like Size continuity of the Space Jockey went out the window (The Imax Trailer shows why) but I suppose this major mistake can be forgiven seeing as it's relatively the same design, just scaled down, Really SCALED DOWN! Everything else about the movie looks amazing and for that I'm still going to see this at the Imax Theater.

Well, it kinda looked like we get to see whatever burst out of that Space Jockey's chest.......I think it's been a while since a trailer has been like that for me.  Wiseguy I think you're totally right about what the trailer implies for the story

I really hope we see the Xenomorph and that it indeed ties into the Alien series. Maybe a new series will come of it. Man I miss the past sci fi stuff.

That Space Jockey and his "Derelict" spacecraft look awesome!!  I'll definitely see this in theaters!!

Now this is starting to look interesting...

OK, they should warn  you "please watch this trainer at noon, with the curtains open so the sunlight can come in...  OH, and wear depends".

InnerSanctum 3/18/2012 12:19:37 PM

mishrak:  I agree, I was totally creeped out by this trailer (and, that recent viral ad floating around.)  I had no idea what to expect from this film, but I was excited.  Ridley revisiting a world he created decades ago.  Now, I see it is adult sci-fi that is definitely what I'd qualify as being horror.  I enjoyed Aliens, but even that film never terrified me like the original.  I'm hoping this is another of Ridley's masterpieces.

My top summer films to see besides this film:

1) The Dark Knight Rises

2) Avengers

3) Brave

(keeping my fingers crossed for Jack the Giant Killer and breathing life into the Spider-Man franchise.)

Top films I could care less about seeing this summer:

1) G.I. Joe 2

2) Battleship

3) The Expendables 2

Actually, this list could be a little more extensive...I'll just leave it at that.

Didn't Ridley openly declare that this is a brand new Universe, why lie?

Wiseguy 3/18/2012 12:57:03 PM

InnerSanctum -Jack the Giant Killer has been moved to 2013

goatartist Yeah Ridley has been all over the place with his comments about this film but in yesterday's q&a they admitted it definitely is part of the Alien universe. I think he was trying to distance himself a bit so no one goes in ecxpecting an Alien film with  xenomorphs. This appears to be more about the "God-like" beings responsible for their creation and their other actions around the universe
