I liked the idea of modernizing things without too much gadgets and superfly equipments that de-humanize Bond.

No...not good news at all.

I actually miss the gadgets, without them James Bond may as well be Jason Borne, Liam Neason, insert generic action spy hero, etc.

 If they keep Q as he was in From Russia With Love, it should be fine.  No over the top gadgets, but a few mundane trinkets to help along the way.  Please, just say no to remote control, stealth cars and flame throwers from your watch.

I have heard the actor is really good at what he does, so there is promise in that.  But he has some big shoes to fill.  John Cleese is hard to follow.  ;-)

This is who they chose to replace the great Q?!?  Pfff, what a travesty.

In the original Fleming Bond books, the character for which Q was based on was Major Boothroyd. He was in like two books, and didn't make gadgets. He was the armorer. Q is a branch that makes spy gear. Though I love Desmond Llewlyn, he got way too cheesy over time. Keep the spy stuff based in reality, without lasers and grappling hook watches.

Oh and goldeneyez, Jason Borne and all the rest were based off James Bond, not the other way around.

Exaclty - in the books the gadgets were very minimalistice. In the movies starting with Connery they started and the went cornier and more bombastic every outing until they made Bond a Batman without a suit.  I bet this Q will have plausible futuristic weapons like they have in the show Future Weapons and such. Real versions of real prototype weapons real people are working on right now. And that would be fine.

This isn't new news, they announced Qs return some months ago, and as I said when they first announced Qs return so long as they keep the gadgets to a minimum and believable (no invisible cars) it should be great. 

 This is great news! I wanna watch Bond being Bond, not Bourne!
