While the SDCC featured a panel for Punisher: War Zone last night, a video clip has appeared online featuring the violence we will be seeing with this latest adaptation of the Marvel hero. I'll put the video clip down below and up for our Mania Video of the Day. The film, directed by Lexi Alexander, will feature Ray Stevenson, Dominic West, Doug Hutchinson, Colin Salmon, Wayne Knight, Dash Mihok and Julie Benz.

Plot Summary: Waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the "Punisher Task Force" hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.

Punisher: War Zone will hit theaters Dec. 5, 2008.

That looks like almost "Rambo" levels of violence and bloodshed. Great visuals, shame about the soundtrack.

That footage didn't do much for me, especially after that much-discussed first redband trailer released a month ago. It did paint this iteration of Punisher much more as a brawler than a finesse/hang-from-a-chandelier type guy, which is good... But with amount of over the top violence and the visuals themselves I really just get that "B Movie" feeling...

That was disgusting. Didn't even get through the trailer. About halfway through it I felt my soul give a whimper and die a little.

I have loved The Punisher since I was in 6th grade (the first time)-1989. I am an easy fan to please, really. Thomas Jane, the Punisher in Miami. Okay, sure. I was willing to go along with that. For the most part, I find that second Punisher film quite entertaining. High Art? No. Mindless, a little. Maybe, I liked it because i've always wanted to chain John Travolta to the bumper of a car and send it off into a mass of exploding cars, I don't know. Why the hell are they "rebooting" this franchise, I was willing to give Jane his run. Let's see what the Miami Punisher can do. In retrospect, Miami needs to be punished. Or is a great place to punish people. I also love violence to a great degree. This just doesn't excite me. It seemed like it was all violence. Yes, the punisher is a violent character (gross understatement). The Garth Ennis take on the Punisher. Awesome, best thing to happen to him. But, an hour and a half to two hours of wall to wall bloodshed is a little much even for my bloodthirsty self. It seems like there is no plot, storyline. That preview makes it seem like a Violence Porno.

Looks like it should have been called "Punisher: Mindless Violence". I have no doubt there will be very little story based on the fact they are pushing fo rthe "HEY LOOK HOW GROSS WE ARE MAKING IT" angle. Why didn't they just use "bodies hit the floor" music just to make sure the wrestling fans know its being marketed to that lowbrow audience?

Jigsaw looks sick, castle doing what he does best eliminating scum, and it's Rated R.

I don't know what people expected. The Punisher freakin kills people. Plain and Simple Folks. He utterly f's up scum.

There's nothing wrong with the music for that what did you expect? Hollywood loves using new metal to present it's movies. It's nothing new lately anyway. Who cares. I Liked Jane's potrayal but this is much more "comic book" style and im glad it was done this way. I'll be there to see it..

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING BABY !

One thing to remember is that this Punisher movie is closer to the Marvel MAX Punisher version, not the general MArvel Punisher which are clearly 2 different version of the character. Some would say they are so different, it's like the Max P. is an all new character all together. This trailer gets me even more interested because for once, it appears that they finally got what the Punisher is all about...he's a killer, pure and simple. There is no need for detailed stories or mystery or elaborated storyline, the Punisher is a killer. I think sometimes people forget that he KILLS people and that's all he does. In the form of comics or movie, there has to be some sort of guidelines for a story but the only thing he does is, he kills bad people and that's it. Of course I know there needs to be some sort of story with a movie and the Jigsaw appears to be that storyline and that's all good for me. The rest, the violence that appears to be showned in there is clearly because they finally understood that the real Punisher is a violent hardcore over-the-top killer who doesn't see the need to shy away from being as violent with the people he kills. It's also wayyyyy too early to see if this movie is only shooting and killing and blood, let's wait until the movie is out before judging it. I just can't wait for this, the real Punisher finally alive.

Question, Why isnt there an article with a picture of the Punisher War Zone? The poster looked cool.

The little voices in my head that told me that TDK owns all that was, is and ever will be, are telling me that The Punisher will suck. Hopefully they are wrong and that's not the case. I was waitin for more footage and this actually makes the first trailer they showed somewhat better.Glad I finally got a look at Jigsaw.
I'd like to see an official trailer that actually talks about the story of the movie. I don't remember the other trailer having any, correct me if I'm wrong please.

The Punisher's chandalier swinging action looks gay.
