A new redband clip of SAW IV called "Cecil's Knives" has hit the web courtesy of IGN Movies & Trailers. This clip shows Tobin Bell's Jigsaw character giving a man called Cecil yet another one of his "games" ending with a very sharp bloody ending should he fail. As previous reports have indicated, interviews over the summer from actor Tobin Bell have revealed that he gets as much screentime in the next film as he has in the last 3 installments. The fourth film in the franchise by Lionsgate & Twisted Pictures has Darren Lynn Bousman and stars Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson, Betsy Russell, Costas Mandylor and Lyriq Bent.

Plot Summary:  Upon the news of Detective Kerry's murder, two seasoned FBI profilers, Agent Strahm and Agent Perez, arrive at the depleted police precinct and help veteran Detective Hoffman sift through Jigsaw's latest grizzly game of victims and piece together the puzzle. However, when SWAT Commander Rigg, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw, is suddenly abducted and thrust into the madman's harrowing game, the officer has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of interconnected traps...or face the deadly consequences.

In other news, director David Hackl has told Shock Til You Drop that pre-production planning is getting prepped on SAW V with screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. They're outlining the story for the next installment at this time with a shoot scheduled to begin early next year. The fifth "game" will begin next October.

Here's the latest clip for SAW IV.

Interesting trap and all but...

Spoilers ahead of 3 if you haven't seen it...

Jigsaw died at the end of Saw 3. His throat was cut open by a bone saw. There was no one there to save him. Amanda was dead too. John didn't look like Jason or Freddy, fresh and gooey from their return from the grave. He actually looked to be in better health than ever. So how in the hell can they kill him in 3 and have him walking around just fine in 4?

What's with the constant spinning around-the-trap-really-fast "technique" they always use in this movie? It's more played out than the actual premise.

I am sure he is in Flash back or videos or something. In the other trailer, they show him like frozen on the autoupsy table being taken apart, so he is dead. I love the visual style of saw. I think these have been one of the more gruesome yet creative and fun and not dumbed down horror movies in a long time.

They are definitely flashbacks, but I am getting the feeling that there will be a twist to explain Jigsaw being alive at the end. Hell, maybe that guy only imagined cutting Jigsaw's throat. The body on the autopsy table could be a fake. Would make sense with the Saw franchise.

I don't get it we get five Saw movies, but only one Seven movie. I'm willing to see another Saw movie only if they add a Morgan Freedman type character.
