Plot Concept: From the beloved best-selling series of books comes "The Spiderwick Chronicles," a fantasy adventure for the child in all of us. Peculiar things start to happen the moment the Grace family (Jared, his twin brother Simon, sister Mallory and their mom) leave New York and move into the secluded old house owned by their great, great uncle Arthur Spiderwick. Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, the family blames Jared. When he, Simon and Mallory investigate what's really going on, they uncover the fantastic truth of the Spiderwick estate and of the creatures that inhabit it.

SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES hits standard and IMAX theaters Feb 15, 2008.

Well it looks well done. I might bring my kids if I don't think they'd be terrified.

I never read the books, but it does look very cool. I need to get me some of those kid things to keep me abreast of good Children/ Teen Literature. I think the last series i read other than Harry Potter was the Apprentice Adept series by Pierce Anthony. Great series. I wish they would make movies out of them.

Anthony's Xanth would be very good on the big screen or McCafferey's PERN series.

I know I'll be taking my kids to see this one and the Golden Compass

I saw a longer preview of this movie at the comic con this year, and i have to admit i like what i saw. It sorta reminds me of some of the great fantasy movies from the 80's. Im so glad i work at a movie theatre that shows imax, cause this movie will certainly be worth watching it on that format

Um, yeah. That looks way more interesting (and intense) than the teaser trailer they put out. I'll definitely be checking this out.
