Infogrames answer to Nintendo's WAVE RACE

Infogrames sent us some new info on its upcoming Playstation 2 water racing game, SPLASHDOWN.


Developed by Rainbow Studios, SPLASHDOWN features eight different characters and eighteen tracks ranging from real-world locations such as Hawaii, to the city of water, Venice. Sporting licensed SEA-DOO crafts and realistic wave physics, SPLASHDOWN also has over twenty tricks to master.[IMG2R]


SPLASHDOWN's features include:



  • Environments including Hawaii; Lake Havasu, Arizona; Venice, Italy; Nice, France; Tokyo, Japan and more


  • Water engine with unique rider and SEA-DOO® physics


  • Real-time water effects with "hydrodynamic" physics and interactive objects


  • Licensed watercraft models and equipment from SEA-DOO®


  • 18 racing courses


  • More than 20 stunts per rider including -- the heart attack, lazyboy, metronome and pommel horse and more


  • Eight different characters, each performing their own signature trick


  • User controlled camera angles and view points


  • Multiple game modes including Career, Countdown and Free Ride with three difficulty levels in each


  • Character dialogue during races


  • Wrecks and bails

SPLASHDOWN looks to give Nintendo's WAVE RACE: BLUE STORM a run for its money this winter.
