AMiSHPiRATE: We DO have our dignity, thats why we're NOT watching the Watchmen in the theater. That movie will be a travesty and an insult to what Alan Moore created. 2 1/2 hours? How long without all the bullshit slow motion action? an hour and a half?

Some of my first memories are of my parents and I watching Star Trek on a shitty black and white tv with my Mom holding the channel knob with a pair of pliers so we'd get a decent signal.

I grew up on a steady diet of original series and Next Generation episodes and on through DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise which everyone hated for some reason.  I've always been a Trekkie, yeah that's right Trekkie, not Trekker.  I was pretty skeptical of this idea from the beginning, and the notion of having anybody fill the shoes of Kelly, Doohan, Nimoy and Shatner seemed a little blasphemous to me.

Now that I've seen a few trailers for it...You know what, this damned movie looks like it's going to kick ass.  I'm seriously pumped at this point.   The last few Next Gen flicks have been a little disappointing, so this might be just the shot in the arm Star Trek needs to get back on everybody's viewscreen.

Who the hell is we?  Don't speak for me Samurai.  Watchmen will be amazing squid or no squid.  The director's cut is going to be over 3 hours and probably all of 4 minutes of that at most will be slow motion.

Slow motion has been used in cinema to heighten drama for decades.  If that's your sole reason for hating on the film, it's pretty flimsy.  Alan Moore is a genius but he's also a bit of a lunatic and a bit of a bastard.  V For Vendetta was altered for the screen, and it was better for it.  I love the book, but the movie was better.  As for Watchmen, why don't you see the movie before trash it?

oh snap, samurai1138!  I'll give you props for being a purist, but the slow motion joke was old when charles angels dropped a decade ago.

Damn!!!  This trailer just has me jonezin to see this flick.  I'm from the Next Generation to present group as well.  Never really go into the old series but did really enjoy all the films.  I think (and hope) this is the shot in the arm Star Trek needs to keep going.  What a great job theye did from the scenes I've seen so far.

Ya... this movie looks like it's gonna be sick. I swear though..... the marketing of movies these days, makes trailers look better than the movie sometimes.

I'm not a JJ Abrhams fan (still haven't seen Cloverfiel because of the giant hype machine) but this looks FAN-FUCKIN-Tastic! And I am a big trek fan (not a trekkie though) Grew up watching Star Trek TOS  in syndication, then loved TNG, And All I can say is this movie looks to take me and the original crew where no man has gone before!

The only people that will hate Watchmen are those who have already made u their minds that it sux before they see it. I went with a bunch of comic geeks on Monday, and we loved it. And yeah we've all read it several times. I liked the ending and did not miss the squid at all.
