Paramount Pictures and director J.J. Abrams have revealed their first clip for Super 8 courtesy of AOL Moviefone. It's short in length (only 35 seconds) and can be seen in the video player down below. The thriller stars Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills, Gabriel Basso and AJ Michalka. J.J. Abrams wrote and directed the tale while Steven Spielberg produced.

Plot Concept: In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

Super 8 will roll into theaters June 10, 2011.

I'm liking everything so far. I like the mystery that the trailers build.  The look and feel of the movie reminds me of E.T meets Cloverfield or something. I can't wait to catch this in theaters.

Really loved the teatrical trailer attached to Thor. This one is definitely on my watch list this summer.

AtreyuPrimus 5/16/2011 11:10:53 PM

Very E.T., and is it just me or does anyone else get just a slight Goonies feeling of adventure out of the trailer?

I am so excited about this! To sound like everyone else on here, this friggin summer is gonna rock!!!

sportwarrior, agree 100%  the trailer attached to Thor gave me goosebumps.  Not sure why but everything I see on this excites me, and makes me feel nostalgic.

Ditto, ditto, ditto and ditto. I've been looking forward to this since the rumors started, it looks awesome.

On top of that folk that saw an early screening about month or so back were raving about it, which just makes me even more eager to see this.

I can't believe what a great summer this is going to be! Good thing since last year sucked!

BTW, Thor was Awesome!

I like the preview that was attached to Thor. Maybe because of Speilberg this will better than Cloverfield (not a fan of the movie, even if you take the shakey cam out (on a side note: I did like the cinemaX late night version though)).

Right now I see Super 8 as a much more violent E.T.

BTW Jarrod - the link doesn't work anymore

I'm there for the nostalgia. That much sold me. I'm not really concerned about what the thing in the train is supposed to be.

raa2001 5/17/2011 5:07:56 PM

A decent cast, JJ Abrams directed and Steven Spielberg produced, I can't see where this one can go wrong.

I agree with all, this is a must see.  I will have to give up beer, wait i'll just be a bigger mocher, so i don't miss any of the movies this summer.......
