The first basic teaser poster and behind-the-scenes featurette for the next Bond adventure, titled Quantum of Solace, has made its way online this morning courtesy of Moviefone. The 22nd film is getting directed by Marc Forster (Finding Neverland) and it stars Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright, Jesper Christensen and Joaquin Cosio. Scribes Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Paul Haggis penned the screenplay for MGM & Columbia Pictures.

Plot Summary: "Quantum of Solace" continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (Daniel Craig) in "Casino Royale."

Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (Judi Dench) interrogate Mr White (Jesper Christensen) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an Mi6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organisation.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world's most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (Joaquin Cosio). Using his associates in the organisation, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene's sinister plan and stop his organisation.

Quantum of Solace will hit theaters Nov. 7, 2008.

LOVE the teaser poster! Still not crazy about the title, but the poster gets the job done.

Also just read online that Amy Winehouse was officially offered the gig to record the title song for the film, provided she stays out of rehab for the next two months. I suppose if they tell her to go to rehab again, she'll say no, no, no.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll go slap myself for that one.

Cool enough poster, though I really couldn't care less about movie posters.
And the Title is so far off from the other titles it's like they trying TOO HARD to be a NEW Bond.
Still as long as the movie is good none of that other crap really matters.

Cool poster, effective and to the point...
reminiscent of the Phantom Menace though...

I like that he's holding an H&K UMP9 in the poster. This is the same weapon he used to shoot Mr. White in the leg at the end of Casino Royale. Very appropriate since Quantum of Solace takes place immediately after the events of CR. As far as the title is concerned, Quantum of Solace was the name of a short story in the anthology "For Your Eyes Only" by Ian Fleming.

"Dominic Greene" and "Mr. White," huh? I have good feelings about the movie, but I'm starting to think they should have called it "Reservoir Bond."

"Quantum of Solace" is the complete opposite of (ahem) "Octopussy" which to me sounds far better. So it sounds like the title of a physics textbook...eh. From what I hear they're going to inject a little humor into Craig's deliveries--BUT hopefully not as hammy or self-conscious as Moore's god-awful one liners in his later Bonds. Plus Gemma Arterton....Google Gemma Arterton in the Images category and you'll see why most Brits keep a stiff upper lip...well stiff something (ahem)...did I mention "Octupussy"?

Casino Royale was great and this sounds like its prepping to be damn good also, but my only qualm is that if these movies are supposed to be about a super spy with espionage, intrigue and mystery, why the hell tell us everything in the plot synopsis? I liked to be surprised sometimes. Sheesh!

Dump winehouse for somebody else. Daughtry would be cool.

"Dump winehouse for somebody else. Daughtry would be cool."

But probably too reminescent of Chris Cornell doing the song for Casino Royale.
