Columbia Pictures and co-directors Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have unleashed this latest poster for The Adventures of Tintin, the first film of a planned trilogy based on the popular characters. Check it out below along with the previously-revealed trailer. And sound off with your thoughts.

The 3D family fantasy will star Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Andy Serkis, Jamie Bell, Daniel Craig, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook. Helmer Steven Spielberg directed the first installment, based on a screenplay by Edgar Wright, Steven Moffat and Joe Cornish.

Plot Concept: The story stars Jamie Bell ("Billy Elliot," "Defiance") as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig ("Quantum of Solace," "Defiance") as the nefarious Red Rackham.

The Adventures of Tintin arrives in 3D/2D/IMAX theaters on December 23, 2011.

The only thing so far this has going for it for me is that it's a Spielberg film. If it wasn't for that lone fact I probably wouldn't bother. Still it's going to be a tough opening weekend with 4 films that I want to see.

Film is going to be good. I have been reading the graphic novels and while they are written for younger readers you can tell it is going to work well with Spielberg and Jackson sensibilities. I'm really looking forward to it.

I am predicting that this movie will probably not do well in the USA.

I can't wait for the film. I grew up on TinTin and have all the comics, even in Digital form, and read them to my kids. Kids are excited as well. This is exactly the type of thing the Spielberg touch was made for. Should be wonderful. I can certainly understand those who never read the comics might not be as excited, but they were wonderful stories. I do agree with Muenster though, this could be one of those, Worldwide Huge numbers and only so-so US numbers type of movies. And frankly, I'm ok with that.

I'm sooooooo looking forward to this film. I have all the books. My kids are getting into and love what they see. Will go see it French though. I sure hope in Canada we get the French Parisian dub as opposed to the Quebec French dub.
