I'M A FAN OF SHYAMALAN. sorry caps lock... The only movie of his I didn't like was he Village. I really enjoyed all of his other flicks. The Lady in The Water re-ignited my confidence in Him after the crappy Village.
I'll see this one, the trailer was cool, and the story seems cool.
Cool

He's got a nice cast... hope that the film works... I am a fan of M.Night Shyamalan, but his style concerns me because most of his films have the same formulaic format. This should be an opportunity to show his chops before writing and directing "The Last Airbender", which is a live action adaptation of a gem of an animated series.

gauley, I'm with you. I loved Lady in the Water. I thought I was the only one, but I didn't like Signs too much. Aliens who can't stand water coming to a planet that is 2/3 water? This one I'm not too confident about either, but I will give it a shot. It was funny because when this trailer played prior to IM and Shyamalan's name came up everybody booed.

Gauley...I agree with you...I thought the village could have been a lot better had the most important part of the story not been given away so early in the movie...To clues us in that it was a fake monster so early just took away from the whole idea of her being freaked out and alone in the woods and then to many things made me think that they were living in modern times and not the era they portrayed...Other than that movie I like all the rest even Lady in the Water but that was mainly because of Paul Giamatti, he's such great actor...

This one I'm definately going to see in theaters. I have enjoyeed all of M
Night's movies. The Village was a but of a let down for the very reason mlaforcer mentioned above. I hope this movie is as good as that traler looked.

I must also agree with everyone else who agreed with the previous agreers. I haven't seen this new trailer yet, but the TV spots have started airing. I enjoy Shyamalan's movies, too. Each one, including The Village. That movie gets a bum rap because it's not really a genre film at all, but a drama with people wearing giant fur coats with pointy bone claws and scary looking monster faces. And Lady in the Water seemed to work a lot better, since that was a genre movie. I'm definitely going to see The Happening, too. I think it's going to be
a pretty happening movie.

This looks quite a bit different than the original clips and teasers I've seen. Those made it look like a "clone" of King's "The Cell" or the indie flick "The Signal". I'm sure they took efforts to separate the similarities. This looks to be pretty good.

I dunno... I like the cast, but I'm always cautious when it comes to M. Night. The first two acts of his movies are always pretty stellar. But he tries too hard to make things mind-boggling or clever, and when that happens he ends up making a train wreck of the third act.

Just once, I want this guy to make a movie I can enjoy all the way through. Hopefully his troubles early on in getting the script sold took a bite out of his hubris?

I'm a Night fan, loved them all each with it's own degree. I love the way he shoots them. I'm a big Hitchock fan and likes that he is so inspired by him. This one does look to be stronger than his last two and can't wait to see it. Bring it... and I do hope the R rating is for the violence that a suspect we will get in this one.
