Looks like a good enough movie for a Saturday afternoon. I'm game.

Just a month after revealing a Halloween teaser, Lionsgate has unleashed a full new trailer for Season of the Witch courtesy of Fandango. The supernatural thriller stars Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Stephen Campbell Moore, Robert Sheehan, Claire Foy, Ulrich Thomsen, Stephen Graham and Christopher Lee. Director Dominic Sena helmed the production from a story by Bragi Schut.
You can check out the new trailer here.
Plot Concept: Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.
A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl.
When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardizes the knight's pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.
Season of the Witch will hit theaters March 19, 2010.
You know... other than the casting of Cage as a 14th century knight, this trailer looked pretty decent. I may have to give this a shot.
Looks like Nic Cage should stay in modern times. Is it just me or does his accent stand out like a sore thumb in the 14th century? I guess not even the best speech coaches could get him to blend in. Overall the film looks pretty awesome, though. Look forward to it
Nic Cage is getting to the point where he's distracting me in his movies... No matter how bad ass the movie might be, as soon as he pops on screen I can't help but think "damnit, here's Nic Cage again." How does this guy keep getting so much work?
Dominic Sena's a good action director. I'm game for any Cage flick.
That definitely looks like a must see. But who's bright idea was it to cast Cage
I did read a report about how Cage is near bankrupt and that it would mean a bunch of Cage movies coming down the pipeline as he tries to remedy his financial situation. Unfortunately, we must suffer through this with him
Looks pretty cool
"pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force" Might be crazy but that inexplicably powerful and destructive force seems to be the witch in the trailer. No surprises really.
