I think it will be better than Green Lantern, I can at least predict that.

The director went on the record in saying toward the end of the movie they will be wearing blue and yellow jumpsuits.

We've seen the blue & yellow jumpsuits in the trailers so what is everyone bitching about Jeez! I grew up with the x-men, I started collecting the comics in the 70's all the way up until recently, & like a lot of people said they would look plain stupid on the big screen. Also what's the point of going to see a direct translation of a comic at the cinema, you know what happens so it's no point watching it. Give it a chance please, watch it first then you can slate it if you must! Me I'd rather see something that resembles a comic I love than nothing at all. Except wolverine.. but that was just because it had a crap plot & crap sfx, but it sounds like they learnt their lesson there and are trying again. Everyone rated the first  2 spider-man movie but if you take it as just a movie the dialogue & situations are pretty dire, the weirdest thing for me is at the end the green goblin get speared in the testicles by his own gilder, I've seen it loads of time but it's too low to be his stomach which I guess is what it was meant to be : )

Trailer  first two posters = badass

Second two posters = not so much...

I'm still looking forward to this flick. It looks better than X-3 and Wolverine. I'm stoked Singer is back on board.

However, those last 2 posters are terrible.

I couldn't agree more.  If you go back to Wolverine's origin...

  • He's a mutant, always been that way.
  • Grew up wearing normal people's clothes.
  • Is more animal than man.

Then, in his debut in The Incredible Hulk, he's running around the Canadian wilderness in his yellow costume.  Why?  It would be more likely to find him running around naked than dressed up in yellow spandex.

Comics are cool, comics are fun.  Grew up with 'em, wouldn't part with 'em.  But on the big screen, we need some motivation.

Costumes aside, I would like to have seen a 5' tall Wolverine, simply because there aren't any really short superheroes anywhere.  But Jackman was great, can't take that away from him.

Batmite, ElBaz, flinshadytoo, Kaziklu, couldn't agree more!

Putting our favorite superheroes in their flashy comicbook costumes would require creating a movie tone that would be sillier or "comic-booky" in the sterotypical sense. Joel Schumacher's Batman, for instance. It's possible to do it, though. Watchmen made a serious film with lots of costumes but getting the right tone can be hard.

Bryan Singer already set up the X-men movieverse close enough to the real world where costumes would be high on the silly meter. It looks like they will, however have similar costumes to the comics in this one because they are setting it in the 60s when the fashion sense of bright colors and the "Austin Powers" kind of look was in.

BunyonSnipe 3/10/2011 12:38:35 PM

Yeah it's just a shame they didn't have the balls to cast someone who is more physically like Wolverine!

BunyonSnipe 3/10/2011 12:40:10 PM

But as I've said with other things, this is NOT the 616 Marvel Universe and as suchthe rules of the comics don't apply...
