Not surprised they didn't get Beast right, one of a millionth thing this franchise has gotten wrong. Hank even before his full mutation resembled a simian with long arms and huge feet and hands. He was always super agile and strong. But why sweat the small stuff

He didn't really ever have long gorilla arms. Granted he was more buff and thicker than this guy, we can't see the actors hands or feet in this pic. The may be oversized.

AND BTW, giant hands and feet is one of the all time STUPIDEST powers EVER... Sorry but it is. From an owner of X-men #2... A fan... Big hands and Feet a super power = stupid. He could still be super agile and strong, I agree he doesn't look that strong here.

So if they decide to change up McCoys origin and skip to his secondary mutation in the MOVIE UNIVERSE (not the 616) thenI can live with that.

 I am not going to pay to see this in the theatre, these X-Men blasphemers aren't getting another dime of my money!  They should just give the rights back to Marvel/Disney so they can properly work the X-Men into their interweaving film franchise.

gauley you're wrong again. And I'll best you one on top of that, owner of X-Men #1 if that somehow means something, I also have #1s Avenger, IronMan and DareDevil for your future reference. He did have the limbs more of an ape  than a man in that they were longer than a man's and was as strong if not stronger than an ape and hairy too and this before his full mutation.  And btw smartguy, huge hands and feet weren't superpowers they were just part of his mutation which enable him to be as athletic and use his feet almost as hands just like some simians

 I'm curious....the rift part...they were still working together and seemed to be forming the first team in X3.  When they went to visit Jean.  This storyline confuses me a bit.  However, I love the director and the time period.  Looks like a lot of fun.

WTF!!!

I'm tired of posting about how wretched Fox' s new movie "Mutants:First Class" is but to chime in on Gauleyboy and Wiseguy's discussion, Wiseguy is right. I don't know if my opinion means much because I don't have X-men #1 or 2, but I've read all of them.  I do have Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider and X- Factor #1.

Anyway, Beast was originally drawn in a way to make him look in part like an ape. he was hairy, had enlarged hands and feet with longer arms. It was until after awhile , I thinkwhen they became "Uncanny" did they make him look more normal just in time to turn him blue and even more furry.

As for the picture, it stinks. Yes, Mystique does tend to get around the Marvel community but trying to make it like they were a couple or had intimate moments is ridiculous. Is it because they both end up Blue? I hate you FOX, DIE!!!

He did have the agility of an ape, but there is no mention of "simian like" arms. And Kirby never drew him to look like he had ape arms (IMO).

AND in the world of the elite mutant superhero group X-Men, Mutation equals Superpowers. If the mutant abilities are not useable as super powers they are just mutants. Not a member of a super hero group.

I only mentioned my ownership of a classic title to give credence to my fandom. Not to get in a pissing contest. I have been a lifelong fan, and want to make sure detractors of this movie don't think they are speaking for all lifelong X-Men fans.

BTW, Big hands and feet still are a Stupid superpower. I think thats a huge reason they allowed his subsequent mutations to make him cooler.
