Weekend Box Office Report: Pirates Rule - Jul 17, 2006 - 08:40am
almostunbiased- I'm with you on POTC2. I was very disappointed. By the second act I just lost interest. It will be interesting to see how much POTC2's final box office is. As evidence on rottentomatoes (52% fresh), alot of people have mixed feelings about this movie. Maybe I should go see it again. I just don't think I want to sit through the ridiculous action pieces or the want to be Gungan pirates. How long can two people fight on a rolling wheel? Long enough to where I don't care about the outcome.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST - Jul 09, 2006 - 03:48pm
The matrix is a great movie that unfortunately was tainted with awful sequels. Unless pirates 3 is vastly improved from 2, it seems destined to suffer a similer fate.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST - Jul 08, 2006 - 03:24pm
Instead of saying "very little humor", I should have said tired and redundant humor. I laughed of few times in the first hour, but by the next act the humor felt worn out and unfunny. Almostunbiased, I agree with most of your statements about the movie, especially regarding too much of a fantasy/sci-fi element. However, I have hard time even calling this a good movie. It's average at best. This movie felt like it was trying to be star wars mixed with a little Indiana Jones. To me it lost a lot of the originality the first one had. The action was original but ridiculous. I mean are these pirates that can use the force. How did Jack Sparrow get right up and start running after falling down a canyon. I expect action to sometimes defy logic, but Dead Man's Chest asked too much. To follow the plot you needing to pay close attention, but for the action you needed to check your brain at the door.
