Moviehole.net has posted a brief interview (if you can call it that) with Tim Story, the director of FANTASTIC FOUR 2, in which he talks about the role of The Silver Surfer.

They write, The film's director, Tim Story, told me this morning that although The Silver Surfer is indeed in the movie, it won't be Vin Diesel playing him.

"No truth to it", Story said, when asked about the Diesel rumours. "The Surfer will be a new CGI design being developed especially for the movie. It's going to be incredible".

I can live with that.

I can't live with the fact the first one sucked, and that they are still making a second one with the same LAME director.

All I know is that they had better play Satriani's "Surfing With The Alien" when he shows up.

I really REALLY did not like the 1st one.

Mr Fantastic and Sue were WAY mismatched and had no chemistry.

The Thing was way too small (this guy is supposed to be able to go toe to toe with the Hulk!)

What was the most evil thing Dr Doom does? He wrecks a city block.

But if part 1 was nothing more than primer, maybe 2 will up the ante significantly?

I liked the first F4 movie. Of course it wasn't a great movie and it had its flaws but over all i enjoyed it.

One of the main problems the first F4 sufered and that most first super heroe movies sufer was that it was an origin movie.

They can't avoid it, it has to be delt with and some times because of that part of the plot and action sufers.

But we don't really have to deal with origins in the second one hence why I am willing to give Story a second chance.

Tacid, I agree.

Shaolinronin, Reed and Sue were fine. I think most people can't figure out how he GOT her in the first place.

PART of the reason the Thing can rumble with the Hulk is because he knows HOW to fight. Over time the Hulk gets stronger and Thing's strength is no longer an issue.

I agree with you about Dr. Doom. He was a punk.

Question: What did you think of Human Torch?

I hope they tighten up the Thing make up or make him cgi as well. His look has evolved in the comics from something resembling dinasour hide to his current look. His skin should evolve in the movies as well.

So it's obvious they're going to do Galactus in Fantastic Four 2. Geez who else thinks this is going to be a giant CGI train wreck?

I was one of those who liked FF: the movie despite its flaws. I liked the non-CGI Thing, especially after the Hulk CGI-a-rama. Its hard for a CG effect to convey any humanity. Dr Doom was the absolute WORST thing about this movie. No mystery, no intrigue, and those awful powers....

Dr. Doom sucked. The rest of the movie was not that bad! The FX weren't bad, either. Jessica Alba was too young to play Sue Storm, but you know what, she did NOT do a bad job.(It doesn't hurt that she is one of the hottest women ever to walk the planet Earth & she can act.) At the end of the film, I couldn't imagine anyone else in the role doing a better job!(She must love Reed Richards for his mind, I guess.)

The Human Torch was awesome!! The flame effects were perfect.
