What They Say
Though the demon possessing Sakura keeps getting stronger, Aria refuses to give up on him! Despite the complication of a stranger from her past who seems to have the same powers she does, Aria fights on. It seems to be working as Sakura takes back enough control to speak to her... but has she let her guard down too soon?

The Review
The blood relatives have gathered in the shrine, and Aria is the only thing standing between them and the demon's revenge. Despite this, Aria is discovering that she's simply incapable of hurting Sakura's body, even knowing that it's a demon controlling him. When Sakura unexpectedly manages to take back control of his own body for a moment, Aria is thrilled, but still unable to do what Sakura requests.

When the demon once again takes control of Sakura's body, instead of killing Aria he takes her to the place where he died, where he and Mikage fought for the last time. While there, Aria realizes that there's something deeper to his anger, some reason beyond the obvious for the demon's anger to have festered so deeply for so long. If she can figure it out, it might give her a way to save Sakura and the blood relatives, without anyone needing to die.

While Kuguri is getting weaker from the constant battling, Aria finds herself forced to confront not the demon inside Sakura, but her own brother, who hates Aria and all the blood relatives, and wants them dead. While battling him, Aria gets a glimpse into Akiya's past, and discovers why his hatred is so strong. But even Aria's determination might not be enough to save Akiya from himself.

Kaido finally arrives back on the scene to save the blood relatives and kill Sakura. He goes after Aria, who has stumbled upon Sakura almost by mistake - the real Sakura this time, since the demon has temporarily given back his body, although the motives for that are unclear.

With this volume, it's clear that the situation is coming to a head and that things will be ending soon - for better or for worse. It's easy to cheer for Sakura and Aria, but at this stage it's hard to imagine how the pair could possibly manage a happy ending. It has me on the edge of my seat - recommended.
