Director Catherine Hardwicke has cast a familiar face for the first film in Summit Entertainment's planned Twilight franchise, based on the popular vampire teen novel series. Actress Nikki Reed (Hardwick's Thirteen), Peter Facinelli & Elizabeth Reaser have joined the already cast Robert Pattinson (Goblet of Fire) and Kristen Stewart. Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz have also been cast as members of the blood-sucking Cullen family in the adaptation of author Stephenie Meyer's book series.

Plot Concept: The story revolves around Bella Swan (Stewart), a 17-year-old who moves to a small town in Washington to live with her father and becomes drawn to Edward Cullen (Pattinson), a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away. She learns he is a vampire.

That's right...He pushes her away and that really pisses her off so she then becomes this Vampire killer and changes her name to Butt Muffy and Kills his Ass, end of story...Sweet! Now I don't need to go watch it...

So its Smallville with blood suckers I guess BLADEVILLE was to obvious a title.

But this will be worse than Return To Salems Lot with Tara Reid.

Don't know how good it'll be but that dude's hair makes me wanna stab him in the eye with a wooden stake

mckracken • Feb 19, 2008, 04:41pm •
cynycal, dont go for the eye, you'd miss his heart LOL!!
Dracula, Buffy, Angel, Blade, Lost Boys, Forever Knight, Dark Shadows, underworld, Innocent Blood...
its not that this is renaming characters from somewhere else...it is not that this is a remake or a reboot or a reimagining, its that...
AHEM...
VAMPIRES ARE OLD and movies ABOUT vampires are STALE...
gheeesh for all peoples bitching and whining about zombie movies i'm still not tired of movies about THEM (or Werewolves)
try being creative for once... let movies about vampires rest for a few years.

So are SPY MOVIES, BAD SUPERHERO MOVIES, BAD SCI FI FILMS, War movies, romantic comedies overblown and unnecessary bible stories, and movies about kid wizards who have magic tampons they call wands

Cynycal • Feb 19, 2008, 08:06pm •
two Stakes are better than one mckracken...two stakes...

but yeah vampires are stale, I'd rather see some kind of Pshycic vampire mythology if they absolutely have to play with the concept, try to make it different.

or just scrap the vampires all together and go with aliens, robots, werewolves, Alien-Robot-Werewolves or forum-posters any thing other than another predictable vamp feature
