Emmy Award nominee and sci-fi icon Leonard Nimoy will guest-star on an upcoming episode of "Fringe." Nimoy will appear as pivotal person of interest William Bell as the critically acclaimed series approaches its dramatic and revealing first season finale Tuesday, May 12 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox.

In next week's all-new "Unleashed" episode, airing Tuesday, April 14 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT), animal rights activists ransack a laboratory and get more than they bargained for when one of the caged "animals" unleashes a ferocious appetite. With Charlie's life on the line, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv), Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) and Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) come face-to-face with the gnarly piece of fringe science.

Nimoy, best known as "Mr. Spock" aboard the USS Enterprise, will reprise his legendary commanding role in the highly anticipated Star Trek feature film directed by "Fringe" co-creator J.J. Abrams. Aside from myriad on-screen credits, Nimoy has directed numerous films, authored several books and released five music albums.

Created by J.J. Abrams & Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci, "Fringe" stars Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo, Blair Brown and Jasika Nicole. The series is produced by Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Abrams, Jeff Pinkner and Bryan Burk serve as executive producers, while Kurtzman and Orci are consulting producers.

So if he did this, why couldn't he have played Sylar's father on Heroes?

Oh, sweet call, monkeyfoot! Would have been a nice little bit o' reciprocity there.  Not that I have any problems with John Glover.  I have loved everything I've seen of his since 52 Pick-Up ("How ya doin' there, Sport?").  He was so skeevy.

Because Nemoy doesn't want to associate himself with the train wreck called Heroes that's why!

I only watched a couple of episodes of Fringe, I'll wait for the DVD release but I gotta say I ain't down for Nemoy as William Bell  just yet.  For the simple reason that I read they shortened Bell's story arc in Fringe because Nemoy only commited to a few episodes.

I would've preferred for them to stick with their original plan for the character of William Bell as opposed to shorten what they had planned just to accomodate Nemoy.  We'll see.  Nemoy will only be in 1 scene this season though.

I haven't watched this weeks episode yet.  It was either that or Lost (deal I have with the mrs. so she can watch her shows too) and I had to pick Lost.  Which by the way STILL waiting on the review of that episode.

I'll all for Nimoy.  I like this series. I was on the fence for most of the season but I think it's getting better. They would be stupid to cancel this show with its potential.

Hobbs you pick Lost over Fringe everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.
