The Review!4 out of 5
Music found in the Ninja Resurrection Film.
This CD comes with a six-page insert. The first page is a paragraph from Director Yasunori Urata about why he chose to do this project in the manner in which it was put to the screen, as well as why the music he chose was used for this film. The second page is the song title list with character pictures in the background. The next two pages are a full color collage of character pictures and moments in the film. The next page is a full color, full-page picture of the castle in the film. The last page is the CD credits as well as credits for the Animation.
With a great performance by the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Conducting by Masamichi Amano, how can you expect anything but wonderful music to assault your ears. Well, if this were the first thought that popped into your head as you read the paragraph by Mr. Urata, as it was the first thought in mine, then you too would be completely correct. Once again, the Warsaw Philharmonic flawlessly pulls the listener into the world of danger, suspense and intrigue of another masterpiece of art. The music itself is European Classical in nature, but it does seem to bring you right to the period of Japanese history where Jubei fights demons and other swordmasters with nothing but his sword and his wits. The sounds that leave the speakers really get into your head, and from there take root in your soul. The moments of tense action are balanced perfectly by the more mellow pauses. Even the silences between songs seem to just fit into place on this CD. It flows with a precision and grace that only the Warsaw Phil and a great conductor can bring to a musical selection.
I’d have to say a classic worth listening to.
Fangboy says…beauty, pure beauty.
