What They Say
In this final episode of the critically acclaimed Ninja series we see our stars battle again.

Reina is fighting for her life; will she be able to use her special techniques?

Will her sexual moves save them again?

Will the powers of this sexy ninja warrior group be underestimated?
How will it end, will they defeat the powerful Shinobi warriors or will they succumb to all their sexual desires?

The Review!
When there is a convention panel about bad hentai series, Ninja will be fighting for the top spot along with Pure Love.

Audio:
For our primary viewing session, we listened to this show in its original language of Japanese. This is also the only language available on this release as no English language version was made for it. The Japanese track is a pretty straightforward stereo mix that does have some minor moments of directionality but it's mostly the music that does a nice job of giving a full feeling performance. Dialogue is clean and clear throughout and we had no problems with dropouts or distortions during regular playback.
Video:
Originally released a few years back, the transfer for this series is presented in its original full frame aspect ratio. The animation for the show is much more cartoonish than normal but it's full animated and rather fluid at times but it also has something of an older feel to it at times with its design. It isn't traditionally animated but it has some of that flair to it while being more cartoonish. The source materials for this are of a very low quality which means a lot of aliasing but also a massive amount of cross coloration throughout. It's very bad in many of the scenes but there are also some basic problems with the print itself in that it seems to have dropouts across segments of it at times. The look of the source material screams that it's a third hand copy someone found somewhere..

Packaging:
Though cartoonish in nature, the cover artwork is still deceptive in that it actually looks good in comparison to what's really here. The final volume has a decent layout of the three main girls from the series all naked in front of the school. The back cover goes light on the color and has a mix of character artwork and some leaf designs for the backgruond. The bottom portion has the limited information available regarding the technical aspect and really overplays the running time. No insert is included in this release. The covers are reversible where the other side is much more tame and covers up the obvious nudity either with new images or carefully placed clothing.

Menu:
The menu layout is similar to other releases from this studio in that the background is a series of animation clips from the series, in black and white this time, while the foreground has the fully clothed version of the character artwork from the cover. The basic menu selections are lined along the right side as a bit of music plays along to it. Access times are nice and fast and there's little here beyond the show and a few trailers. Since there are no real selections for language other than turning the subtitles on, the discs defaults mirror our players' defaults.

Extras:
Other than the bonus video episode which is at least subtitled, the only extra is a photo gallery of shots from the episode.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
The poor quality of the show is only exceeded by the poor quality of the materials used to present it here as Ninja is one of the most confounding adult releases I've seen. Having watched the vast majority of adult anime released in the US, the Ninja franchise simply makes no sense and it's hard to believe it's selling anything past the first volume.

The sixth and thankfully final volume in the series is almost exactly like everything that came before in that there is no story here. We're treated to a disc that features Reina as the only female character, a young ninja who finds herself in numerous bad situations wherein she has to use a crafty ninja move in order to defeat her opponent. Whether that means taking a hideous guy orally or anally, Reina will do it in order to live to fight another day. The segments last no more than five minutes on average and a good half of that feels like it's filled with those awful, awful, awful effects where the image is simply repeated over and over in a different position on the screen.

Each of these scenes is done in a way that they feel like they're done solely with the "straight to the sex" feature checked off. There's no plot and no setup to any of the scenes. We're literally dropped into scenes that have Reina in some situation where she's in a lot of trouble and is going to be abused no matter what. Some shows may be able to pull this off with the right kind of framing or the right kind of animation and character designs, but Ninja is simply beyond the low end of the quality scale. The twenty-two minutes that this runs is just mind numbingly long and elevates a show like Pokemon to the realm of incredibly high art.

In Summary:
Even with the worst hentai that's out there, there is usually something that you can find interesting, amusing or even arousing about. While 95% of the show may suck, that 5% gives you just enough to maintain an interest in until it's over. With Ninja, I'm still dumbfounded that it made its way over here at all and that it made it past the first volume. Every show has a fan but whoever the fan is of this show just didn't get treated right. With a very poor looking release in terms of video quality, there is nothing to recommend even on that level. This is the kind of show that you use to make fun of everything else with or send to your friends in order to scar them severely. It's bad but not bad enough to actually be funny. Avoid at all costs, even if someone pays you to watch it.
