TV Wasteland: Everybody's on the FRINGE - Sep 15, 2008 - 07:34am
Loved Fringe. I know there were some issues, why the heck does Joshua Jackson have to come off like a misogynist?, but overall the pilot was in my opinion excellent. I look forward to the rest of the season. Really need to see WHY Joshua Jackson's character has to stick around. His character I think IS the glue to the entire story and they need to be gentle with it.
It's Burn Notice's season finale this week. Looks great like always. Supernatural...I can't wait. Haven't watched Smallville for...three seasons? Don't know. But wow....downhill.
Director Yates Talks Intro of HALF BLOOD PRINCE - Jul 03, 2008 - 06:29am
almost, Snape becomes the Dark Arts teacher. New teacher is Slugworth (think thats his name...it's been awhile). And yes...the position continues "is it cursed?" debate.
FINAL CRISIS #1 - Jun 18, 2008 - 09:13am
I dub FC #1 to be crap. It ignores the "efforts" of Countdown, which was major major crap, as well as Death of the New Gods. Sure it may tie in later down the series but all hints show nothing of the sort. B- is way too kind and I think the "love" for Morrison's writing clouded the judgment of the reviewer. C- for FC #1...and thats being generous/hopeful.
New Set Photos for DA VINCI Prequel - Jun 07, 2008 - 11:40am
Angels is ten times better than The Da Vinci Code. The Da Vinci Code movie was horrible. So Angels will be....worse?
THE STRANGERS - May 31, 2008 - 08:12am
And it's "based on real events" is complete and utter lies.
Comicscape: Five Problems with American Comics - May 28, 2008 - 04:59am
My thoughts on your points:
1) Totally agree with the take on DC. Totally confusing. I once read a 'Rama explanation of the pre/post/current/alternate whatever on DC continuity and tried to explain it to a friend. I sounded like a complete dork that was completely confused on why people would even read DC.
2) Bitch about it all you want but some of us like crossovers (and tie-ins when they are limited).
3) Some of the delays and scheduling conflicts are forgivable. McNiven's case was totally forgivable, Marvels' crap scheduling wasn't.
4) We get it, you don't like superhero books.
5) As a fan I've chosen not to support Marvels decision with OMD/BND crap.
23.5 Degrees: The Sanguineous Sekhmet Saga - May 17, 2008 - 11:19am
I wonder if I complained about the fact that this column, though nicely written, has nothing to do with this site if anything will actually happen. I can appreciate a column dealing with faux artifacts but this does NOT belong.
Animated HULK Series Arrives on DVD - May 14, 2008 - 05:49am
I'd like the Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man (Force Works), and the X-Men from the 90's more than that. Though it is crap to only have it sent to the UK. Way to drop the ball Marvel
TOO HUMAN Set for August - May 14, 2008 - 05:45am
Ahhhhhh joy. The game looks fantastic and I'm ready to get my hands on it. No idea why it took so long.
23.5 Degrees: Terribilis Est Locus Iste - May 10, 2008 - 06:17pm
buzzkill...we get it, we just don't think it works on this website. To call it a pointless column would be harsh and uncalled for, but it definitely makes no sense for this site and makes me question the administrators for the website.
HEROES Season Three Promo - May 10, 2008 - 06:46am
Three hour season premiere? It's a movie! One I look forward to.
23.5 Degrees: Terribilis Est Locus Iste - May 10, 2008 - 06:43am
Mania.com...I hate you. There's no reason for this column. I've nothing against the columnist or their desire to express themselves. I do however have issues with a random column that makes no sense, and has nothing in common with the theme of the website.
DONNIE DARKO Sequel - May 10, 2008 - 06:41am
I've seen Donnie Darko like four times. I finally got it...and I don't like it. Why make a sequel to such a confusing movie?
23.5 Degrees: Bloodline---The Movie - May 03, 2008 - 10:19am
Can someone explain to me the point of this column? It's just random crap each and every week that literally has nothing to do with this site.
Siegel Estate Wins SUPERMAN Case - Mar 30, 2008 - 06:27am
Actually Congress passed a copyright law in the 70's that nullified previous said contracts. The Siegel's merely chose to use the rights given to them at that point and sued. The agreement between them and DC has never been complete on their part.
Shuster DOES have an estate that is being taken care of by his nephew and their agreement is up at 2013.
In 2033 BOTH of their contracts will be up.
This contract only applies to Action Comics 1. So everyone in that is going to be affected. Meaning if the Siegel's don't like story they can say no. Which is weird and I don't see that happening.
Ghost Rider: Don’t Forget to Burn - Feb 21, 2007 - 12:53pm
I'll play the devil's advocate here. This movie didn't suck. The big picture is this: movies are ADAPTATIONS of the comics. Most try to remain faithful but have to make some changes. For instance, Keanu Reeves as John Constantine. Say what you will on it not following the character but it worked. They took a great talent and adapted the story for a black haired American (because the US is the biggest market and tossing a blonde Brit doesn't always work...unless it's Jude Law).
Marvel, post Blade, has been mainstreaming their movies. And on a business standpoint they should and HAVE to! Blade is a cult like character even in the comics so mainstreaming him would've made the movie...well awful (ala Blade 3).
X-Men, although fairly mainstreamed thanks to television, got a big change to the silver screen. It was Wolverine obsessed (and why I hated X3).
But we can all be grumpy about the comic induced movies that we feel raped us of a fond memory. For me, I liked Ghost Rider. It was due to the fact that I've NEVER read a comic based on him. But it was probably gruesome to those that have.
Oh and I liked Chris Evans as Johnny Storm. He fit the playful attitude right on. And I haven't seen Elektra so I won't diss it.
How to Land Yourself a Great Broad - Feb 20, 2007 - 01:00pm
killverville...settle...I'm positive she meant this article in an over-the-top, fun-loving, JOKING, and humorous sort of way.
I didn't take it seriously...I recommend that you do the same.
Batteries Not Included: Part II - Feb 12, 2007 - 12:36pm
I had a Teddy Ruxpin but I kept on hiding him throughout the house. He freaked me out. But my mom kept finding him so I started to cry. Needless to say he was not a favorite part of my childhood...
"LOST: Not in Portland" - Feb 09, 2007 - 09:51am
I almost wrote a review of the episode but it would've been short and would've said two things:
1) The actress that plays Juliette is hot.
2) The guy getting hit by the bus made me laugh for five minutes. I almost peed my pants.
Warwick Davis joins "Prince Caspian" - Feb 08, 2007 - 06:15am
This is FANTASTIC news!!! I love this guy. He's like the uber-Sci Fi loving dwarf. Love him!
Any time they call for someone of a short stature I always think of Davis. He puts his all into it and his presence in this movie will make it all the better.
Oh and KJ Willow is close to my heart too. Val Kilmer was awesome in it.
Last book is Rowling's Favorite - Feb 07, 2007 - 11:24am
I agree with you fft5305....my only issue...I'm getting tired of her talking about it...I get it..you put a lot of your life in it and it changed you. Stop telling everyone that same story....please...
"Smallville: Crimson" - Feb 05, 2007 - 09:11am
She's not hotter than Erica Durance...but still hot...more cute and wholesome..but not hotter...personal opinion
Can LOST be found? - Feb 05, 2007 - 07:11am
I love Smallville. Absolutely love it. When it ends I will be sad. Not nearly as sad as West Wing but still sad. So while I watched last week's episode I was thinking of suggestions to make it better.
Remove Lana and Chloe. Have Lana move to Paris and Chloe leaves for (insert made up DC city...Star City..Coast City..Opal City..etc). Bring back Pete. Make Lois the romantic interest. Add another villain for Clark to pay against instead of Lex. And voila...new and better show.
"Aqua Teen" stunt gets bomb squads attention - Feb 02, 2007 - 01:03pm
Although I highly disagree with the liberal comments I do have to say that Starblazer was "sorta" right.
In this day and age paranoia is high. The people that reported the incident were doing the RIGHT thing. To see some guys put an electronic device under a bridge would freak me out. What the city officials did in response was I believe, reasonable. They checked it out. The politicians blew it out of proportion. And this all could've been dealt with before hand if Turner would've told the cities about the possibility of this.
Oh and as a political jest, for the fun of it, our soldiers aren't fighting terrorists they're fighting Iraqi citizens who want us out just like we fought the British in the Revolutionary War. We're invaders at this point. Congress agrees with that now.
"Harry Potter VII" gets a Publishing Date - Feb 02, 2007 - 12:53pm
There is WAY too much of a big deal about the long lines and crowds. It's a book, they print off a lot of them. The only lines and crowds are from those that want the book INSANTLY. Which I'll pass on. I'd rather get a good nights rest and read it the next day or whenever. But the Amazon.com deal is quite excellent.
Moe, Moe, Moe - Feb 02, 2007 - 09:17am
Insert "I told you so" moment. :-)
Emily Blunt in "The Dark Knight"? - Feb 02, 2007 - 07:28am
Give me Zoe Duchamel any day of the week...personal fave
But I like GeneD's suggestion...bring in a strong supporting actress to fill that void.
"Harry Potter VII" gets a Publishing Date - Feb 02, 2007 - 07:24am
Dangit! I'll have to see this movie on some crappy bootleg video from Ukraine on my laptop.
I wonder if I beg and pray they'll bump this stuff up to early June...
Moe, Moe, Moe - Feb 01, 2007 - 07:39am
"However, the moe concept is used for sexual purposes sometimes. As yaoi usually consists of a pairing of uke and seme, yuri usually has a moe character matched with an oneesama, an older sister character. Love happens, and the moe character learns something new, losing a little of her innocence. (Wow. That just felt dirty, just writing that.)"
It felt dirty just reading it!
Good column though...I now know moe...
A Question of Taste - Jan 31, 2007 - 01:52pm
I'm all for the academic columns. It has an intriguing approach to comics.
But there's on aspect I found lacking from your column, the stereotype of comics as a medium. I find that the stereotype of comics as for kids to be what holds back the current big two from using excessive force. Didn't Batman once own a gun and kill the bad guys?
I could really use a crazy, sloppy joe eatin' Starman this week...heck I'd settle for a good Wolverine story
A Question of Taste - Jan 31, 2007 - 08:00am
And its a light week in the comic world...
Burger King and Xbox make great pair. - Jan 31, 2007 - 07:53am
The King scares the bejesus out of me. Remember the construction one where he "pretends to almost" push the guy off? Creepy bastard...which makes the idea of Sneak King seem almost fun...
First photos from "Underdog" - Jan 31, 2007 - 07:24am
Why didn't they do Mighty Mouse?!?!
...wait...I take it back..
How to Become All-Powerful Witch and Save the World from Nazis - Jan 30, 2007 - 06:06pm
Like we'd shun you from leaving comments. Some of us are cold hearted but not THAT cold hearted.
Seriously...nothing on saving the world against Fascists?
We have message boards? For really real? Hmmm...
How to Become All-Powerful Witch and Save the World from Nazis - Jan 30, 2007 - 05:19pm
The mere thought of making out with the old Disney movies playing in the background really irks me...not in a bad way..but really...thats just....special...
Any tips on being a wizard and saving the world from Fascists?
"Superman Returns" sequel: Shorter, tighter, action-packed - Jan 17, 2007 - 09:16am
I hate saying this but...I agree with KJ. Pirates 2 sucked. They only made that movie and the 3rd to make more money. The first was pretty much a stand alone movie. Didn't need a sequel. Left no plot ends to be addressed.
As for comic induced movies...well...I'm a hypocrit. I cried foul play for the X-Men movies. Phoenix as the dark side of Jean? BS! Killing the prof? BS! Using less of Cyke?!?! WTF?! Spider-Man...although it takes a fair amount from the comics it diverged a bit. But still excellent. Its totally hypocritically to claim "they should be like the comics" because thats impossible. I eagerly look forward to the next movie. Singer re-established the franchise and the sequel can only get better.
"Thunderbolts" #110 - Jan 17, 2007 - 09:09am
Marvel has a great chance with Thunderbolts to bring forward some C-list characters to the forefront. I really like the look and feel of Jack Flag, partly due to his mask (homage to Grifter perhaps?), and I cannot wait for Steel Spider.
Oh..and I want an action figure of Captain America that yells. It'd be sweet...
Gwyneth Paltrow joins "Iron Man" - Jan 17, 2007 - 09:07am
When I read that Downey was Stark..it blew me away. Best casting choice that no one thought of. When they cast Howard as Rhodes we all agreed it was a great decision. But this...its certainly unexpected...not great but not horrible. Just need Watanabe as the Mandarin.
HBO Acquires "A Song of Ice and Fire" - Jan 17, 2007 - 09:02am
Odd...I just picked up the first book to read and kinda randomly too. Guess I'll have to read the books soon.
"Dresden Files" to be paired with "Battlestar Galactica" - Jan 10, 2007 - 02:01pm
Something to chew on that will inevitably lead to me getting pummeled by Sci Fi nerds across the globe; I hated Farscape. Lots of color and a ship that was a living entity? Sounds kinda cool but man...it was freaking impossible to get into. Sorry about everyone's loss on not getting another season or four like you wanted though.
The Dresden Files sounds pretty cool actually. I look forward to spending my Sundays watching this with Battlestar. It will nicely replace Sunday Night Football.
I Talked with a Zombie: Mark Kidwell on ‘68 - Jan 10, 2007 - 08:23am
I never thought about Superman Batman v. Predator Alien.....but dear god it sounds amazing.
Reminds me of a conversation I had with a guy at my comic book store.
Comic Book Guy: Are you interested in some Indie books?
Me: Depends what do you recommend?
Comic Book Guy: Jesus versus vampires. The title leaves nothing to the imagination.
Me: That...is the best idea ever.
I didn't buy it. It literally left nothing to the imagination.
Thunderbolts was good with Fabian. A real Marvel team book that I liked. It was reminiscent of X-Men of yester year. Hopefully Ellis can keep me interested.
Oh and where's the love for the JSA?!?! Johns is mastering an amazing team book that is being overshadowed by a lackluster JLA. DC somehow got me to buy one book...amazing.
New Line chief vows never to work with Peter Jackson - Jan 10, 2007 - 08:09am
Showing my bias right away: I know no facts about the lawsuit, agreements, contracts, etc.
Pure opinion: I love what New Line does. They are ballsy. But the fact is that studios WILL/HAVE screw over producers, directors, and actors. They have no problems with doing that. Look at Lucas when he first made SW: A New Hope. Fox Studios was saved, yes they were saved, by this movie. Did they pay him well? NOPE. So instead Lucas went and paid out of pocket for his sequels because he was going to get screwed by Fox. It happens in Hollywood.
As for Shaye going after the actors who sided with Jackson? Thats pathetic, immature, petty, and pushed more people to Jackson's side.
"Civil War" #7 Delayed Until Late February - Jan 09, 2007 - 08:02am
When Marvel announced the initial delay I wasn't upset. I mean they want to continue to use a quality artist throughout the series, made sense. When they decided to move 6 from December to early January I understood it as well. Its the holidays and people are less likely to buy around then. But this...this is just plain pee in your wheaties, smack in the face, key your car, Daniel Way writing, raped you while your asleep kind of bad.
M. Night Shyamalan to direct "Avatar: The Last Airbender" - Jan 09, 2007 - 07:58am
I don't HATE Shyamalan but I don't LOVE his work. And this was DEFINITELY from left field. If someone were to say that Avatar was becoming a live action movie I would not have thrown out Shyamalan to write or direct it. Wow...
Women of Sci Fi - Jan 09, 2007 - 07:56am
Really wanted to read a Salvatore book but my local Barnes and Noble didn't have the first of a collection. So I picked up George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice instead. Hopefully the book rocks because reading about Seed to Harvest makes me second guess my purchase..
Wii’re Not Ready - Jan 09, 2007 - 07:50am
Porn and Nintendo...that just doesn't make sense...
Ascending into the Iconic: Separating Fiction From Legend - Jan 04, 2007 - 08:52pm
Al, I totally checked out What If? Age of Apocalypse and saw Brother Voodoo as the Sorcerer Supreme. Totally worth it. Why isn't this guy like all over the 616 MU?!
"Gears Of War" - Jan 01, 2007 - 09:50am
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is THE Game of the Year.
But this game is absolutely stunning. Just reading part of the booklet it gives you an idea of how they came up with the running and the hiding. They accredit it with playing paintball.
If only I can get past the stupid berserker in the beginning...
More "Lost in Space" films? - Dec 29, 2006 - 07:39am
Never could enjoy Lost in Space. Always felt bad for the kid. His parents really didn't give a crap about him...he was always in danger.
Hand-Eye Coordination - Dec 29, 2006 - 07:32am
"It's like admitting assault with a margarine stick." Now that would just be humilitating...
You forgot that the Power Glove also got a bit of a promotion from the movie The Wizard with Beau Bridges, Christian Slater, and Fred Savage. How I remember that I'll never know.
"Pan’s Labyrinth" - Dec 29, 2006 - 07:24am
I did not know this movie was coming out. Great review Abbie!
The Obligatory Year In Review Column - Dec 28, 2006 - 03:15pm
I really enjoy what Whedon has done with Kitty. Its been a long time coming for her to be shown with such flare. Thats probably the fanboy in me speaking but she's the epitome of girl next door in comics. Her taking down Emma was great.
I can't complain about the dialogue, although it can be a bit of forced "smart talk". You may be right lister on the pacing. Maybe its the lack of set amount of action. Reminds me a bit of Bendis. Not a lot but just enough for me to mention it.
"Fantastic Four" Trailer Online - Dec 28, 2006 - 02:24pm
Seriously...I was on the list of "this movie will suck no matter what"...and this trailer proved me wrong...if it keeps this tone it will be a great movie
The Obligatory Year In Review Column - Dec 28, 2006 - 02:17pm
Its really hard to find a common ground with EVERY reviewer. When reviewers say Dreamgirls will take best picture I get ticked because dear god The Departed was amazing.
To me Whedon doesn't suck. He leaves something to be desired in Astonishing. Something thats just missing on the tip of my tongue. He obviously loves Kitty Pryde, finally got her to hook up with Colossus, and made Cyclops a bada$$. I give him those props. So to that degree I give him props. And I will agree to disagree with Kurt on him. Who by the way gives Daniel Way FAR too much credit and blasting fanboys was a bit much. His take on Wolverine is blasphemous. Different strokes. We can atleast agree on Meltzer's run on JLA being pure crap, waste of money, and a wasted opportunity. Those last bits represent my opinion though.
Oh, and Kurt, it comes off that you're a big fan of Morrison, Ellis, and I'm guessing Ennis. Which is all good (Morrison's run on Batman bites...admit it) but some of us are a bit more honed into some of "lighter" stuff like AXM, Spider-Man, and god forbid Teen Titans. How about a nod to those or atleast Marv Wolfman and Geoff Johns? Not saying you don't ignore it but I think I've read more praise or discussion about the darker stuff.
In all fairness you convinced me to pick up Seven Soldiers....and I still don't get it...
The Obligatory Year In Review Column - Dec 28, 2006 - 07:50am
Whedon's stuff isn't EXACTLY my cup of tea but it doesn't royally suck. I like what he's done with the team so far but it doesn't feel...complete. Like something's lacking.
I think he's a good pick to take on Runaways. You may only get to read it two issues a year...but it'll be good.
I still think Brubaker's run on Uncanny will produce something great. I'm holding out for it's greatness.
Bendis on Avengers sucks. But to be fair I don't blame him. Civil War is going on and of course the Avengers book would be in disarray until its over. By the way, McNiven is a stellar artist and I praise Marvel for keeping him on as the ONLY one.
Meltzer's JLA bites. At first I was really excited but its lacking any *umph*. Three issues of three people recruiting? Johns got that crap done in one issue of JSA, including a looney Starman talking about sloppy joes, an awkward college student, AND a superhero's family getting axed. No comparison.
Lots of "TMNT" Pics - Dec 28, 2006 - 07:31am
I have to agree with narpin. DVD nothing.
I'll see it when it airs on Cartoon Network. Why pay to rent this?
"Battlestar Galactica" to become an RPG - Dec 28, 2006 - 07:28am
If this game is remotely like KOTOR, which I pray that it is, then I will pick it up...if not...then its a shame..
Now introducing The Silver Surfer - Dec 22, 2006 - 11:06am
Every time I think of FF it makes me sad. I think Jessica Alba is hot, but not right for Sue Storm. Ian Gruffudd sucked in drawing me into the movie as Mr. Fantastic. Thinking about their "sparks" makes me want to vomit. Julian McMahon OBVIOUSLY hated being in the movie and I hated how they changed his origin.
.....this is a glimmer of hope that FF2 won't make me want to shove a dulled wooden spork into my heart...
"Wolverine: #49" - Dec 22, 2006 - 10:53am
It is tough being a Christian. Especially when you have the judgmental ones jumping up and down exclaiming that they're real Christians even though they are doing what they're NOT supposed to do and judging everyone from the homosexuals, drug addicts, and those of other faiths.
I call those people "faux Christians" or simply...hypocrits. These are the same people that ignore the fact that Christians persecuted other faiths (Calvinists were HUGE on it..and Martin Luther was anti-semitic). But nearly each faith has persecuted the others.
It's also important to note that faith in the Holy Trinity (or simply God/Allah/Yaweh..whatever floats your spiritual boat) is an extremely personal adventure. It is not a persons responsibility to enforce their beliefs on another. Once you do that, or try to, you cheapen any salvation/moment of zen/whatever. I'd argue that any "revelation" wasn't real. Oh and if you are Christian reading all this...God has final say NOT YOU. If you're atheist..well then whatever works for you. I'll respect you're beliefs and stand up for your right to have them. Its what a good person would do regardless of faith.
Now can we just get back to this crap of a comic? I come here for my sci-fi nerd fix not a religious debate.
Final "Harry Potter" Book gets a title - Dec 22, 2006 - 09:02am
They do that with every election though. They base it off of previous voting histories of the district. Not always accurate but it shows the climate of the precincts. I mean my home county always votes Republican. I think its safe to say for the 2008 elections they'll assume that it voted Republican again.
"Wolverine: #49" - Dec 22, 2006 - 08:58am
You know I really love religious talk. When I was going through RCIA my priest said to me "If you can't be educated on other religions and faiths then you are not strong enough in your belief. If you can't acknowledge the fact that other people have beliefs that are not yours then you are not strong enough in your faith. If you can't be open minded and willing to just listen to another person talk about their love of their religion then you are weak in your heart and in your beliefs". I leave that advice for those that get offended in this.
Christianity does NOT promote violence. ANY acts of violence is sin. But does that mean Christians don't sin? Does that imply that they aren't violent? No. The Christians that use violence may be in the mindset that THEY are right based on literal messages from the Old Testament. By the way, Jesus was a Jew, as was his disciples.
For the simple fact of displaying what extremist Christians DO (just like extremist Muslims) I applaud Rob Williams. That's the only applause because the book was crap given the situation of Wolverine. I'm disappointed in the way the writers are treating Wolverine in such an opportune time. Atleast his work is better than Daniel Way.
"Iron Man" Website Now Live - Dec 22, 2006 - 08:44am
I imagine they'll shoot in the mindset of what happened in Spider-Man. Have Downey be all fat and pale prior to being Iron Man and then years later or the what not he's buff.
And I concur with everyone...Downey is a phenomenal choice...totally out of the blue
Final "Harry Potter" Book gets a title - Dec 22, 2006 - 08:41am
You'd imagine they would be able to accurately put out the title for the book. Crazy Reuters.
I'll hold my judgment on the name of the book until the put out the design for the cover. Every cover gives clues to the book's inside.
Final "Harry Potter" Book gets a title - Dec 21, 2006 - 02:55pm
I can't believe I'm gonna nitpick...but I will. It's Hallows not Hollows.
I imagine she'll get the book out two weeks prior or after the movie. I won't be here for it. :-/
Getting Hellshocked with Jae Lee - Dec 21, 2006 - 02:53pm
I'd seriously pick up a series based on Dr. Strange. DC has pulled off a "supernatural" spin with Shadowpact (although a bit lame...) and Marvel's answer is Dr. Strange. Could really play out. There's talk he'll be doing more in the next year.
Getting Hellshocked with Jae Lee - Dec 21, 2006 - 12:11pm
Fair point lister. I enjoy the character of Dr. Strange but he's really lacking in stories. I may have to pick up the recent mini to see if they can do SOMETHING with him. He may have the "Superman complex", ie being too strong to be used well.
Getting Hellshocked with Jae Lee - Dec 21, 2006 - 08:27am
One of my issues with Civil War (we all have a list don't we?) is what they did with Dr. Strange. He agrees to have the Hulk tossed off the planet and then...nothing. Seriously? Sorcerer Supreme is on the sidelines? Not interfering? Not saying "bad! BAD Tony! No beer for you!"?
Oh and I finally picked up Thunderbolts...and loved seeing a NORMAL team book (JLA/JSA not up to par just yet, Uncanny X-Men in space, Avengers bites...) and am disappointed that it just won't last...:-/
Oh and kudos to Kurt for interviewing Jae Lee. Love his work.
"Transformers" Trailer Online - Dec 21, 2006 - 08:16am
This ticks me off!!!
I wanted this movie to look HORRIBLE. I'm going to be out of the U.S. in June. I'll have to wait a long long time to see it.
Alan Rickman joins "Sweeney Todd" - Dec 08, 2006 - 09:43am
I may be wrong but I thought that Sweeney Todd was a barber that was wrongfully imprisoned but upon his release took the new name of Sweeney Todd and took revenge on the society that had him imprisoned. I think this story is relatively new. Cabal if you read up on Sweeney Todd there are a TON of adaptations of this story. To say they are screwing with a classic...well..which one is the classic? There's too many!
Politics in Comics: Your Letters - Dec 06, 2006 - 04:56pm
I did read Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways and actually enjoyed it. Made me hope that Noh Varr gets more respect in the future.
Top 10 Nintendo Gamecube Games Ever - Dec 06, 2006 - 09:39am
No love for Mario Kart Double Dash?!?! I spent hours upon hours upon hours upon hours...with that game. Kinda wish I didn't sell off my Gamecube..
Politics in Comics: Your Letters - Dec 06, 2006 - 09:07am

She's growing ever more popular. She does a fair amount over at IGN.com. Although she is attractive that's unfortunately the first thing people recognize about her. She makes really good arguments and makes for a great read.

I think I may have liked Toy Story even more if there was booby flashing. It was good but that would've made it amazing.
Never seen Dark City...doesn't sound like my cup of tea.
"Heroes: Six Month’s Ago” - Nov 30, 2006 - 12:39pm
Simple thought for all of you...time travel=confusing. Sure its a good tv show but lets not try to explain every detail, k? Just enjoy. :-)
Holiday Movies to Replace the Reruns - Nov 27, 2006 - 01:56pm
A Christmas Story was a must for me growing up. Waking up early on Christmas with the 'rents still asleep I'd turn on the tv to watch A Christmas Story until I fell back asleep.
Christmas Vacation is up there in the funniest Christmas movie ever though. That huge rant by Chevy near the end?! Cracks me up EVERY time. Surprisingly I love Home Alone still (and 2...after that its all crap).
And I'm perplexed as to why no one said Elf? IMO it's the funniest Christmas movie. "SANTA!!!! I KNOW HIM!!!"
Buddy the Elf: If you're Santa then what did I sing for you on your birthday?
Fake Santa: uhhh Happy Birthday.
...or the best way to answer the phone "Buddy the Elf what's your favorite color?"
Lastly...as I rant on...Heroes should be great tonight as its supposed to explain a lot more about their powers
Singles, Trades, and Hardcovers, Oh My! - Nov 22, 2006 - 09:10am

How To Become A Midwestern Beauty Queen - Nov 21, 2006 - 01:20pm
Okay so nowadays children are brought up a little differently. But its still common for parents to have neighbors watch their kids until they get home from work. Its still common to come home from vacation and there's your neighbors sitting in a lawn chair with a six pack wanting to know how it was. I've never had that experience elsewhere in this nation. Maybe others have but I haven't. And I know there are some typical Midwestern snobs, I'd love to live in a place that had none, but they typically get something handed to them to put down their ego. I love when that happens...
Hiro's dad is ... Hiro's dad on "Heroes" - Nov 21, 2006 - 07:28am
Soooo...is Takei his real father or did am I missing something?
But the idea of having Takei on the show is a nice bonus.
"Battlestar Galactica" moving to Sunday - Nov 21, 2006 - 07:26am
There are three good reasons to move BSG to Sunday nights:
1) Desperate Housewives
2) Brothers and Sisters
3) Grey's Anatomy (until this season)
Those three shows did/are doing extremely well on Sunday nights. I'll be honest. I love the show but hate that its on Friday because I always miss it. Thats just me though.
Supernatural just wasn't GOOD it was bloody brilliant!
