Director Christopher Nolan has denied the story about the Hong Kong harbor being too polluted to shoot scenes there for his upcoming sequel to the DARK KNIGHT, reports the AFP. Instead, he's saying it's a script change and it was entirely his decision. They will still be using the Hong Kong skyline in the film and Bale reported at a press conference that his Bats character will be on the top of Hong Kong's tallest building, the 90-story IFC2.
Nolan: "That was my decision, nothing to do with pollution. It was simply a script decision," said Nolan, "Once you see the finished film, you will understand why. As far as the pollution question goes, I honestly have no problem dumping movie stars in it."
THE DARK KNIGHT hits theaters July 18, 2008.
