Disagree with DarthoftheDead. Obviously Chris Nolan is not a good choice for a Justice League movie. silversurfer explains it well. Nolan gave a very bare bones, realistic look at Gotham City, so how is he gonna handle DC's roster of heroes?

And just for the record, The Dark Knight Rises has already received early reviews and they are overwhelmingly positive. So I'm just sayin', people are hating and writing Nolan off (especially because of The Avengers). The Dark Knight Rises is going to do just as well, if not exceed the success of The Avengers. That's right. I'm putting it out there.

Yeah, I love Nolan's Batman movies, but I don't see TDKR coming close to The Avengers, no matter what TDK did in theaters.  Whether people went to see TDK because it was Ledger's last movie or because they love the Joker, I don't see a movie drawing those kind of numbers where Bane is the villain and Catwoman is a good guy.  I can see this completely confusing the average movie goer.

An afterthought - Darth, you REALLY need to expand your hot chick palatte, my good man.  I'm sorry, but Julie Newmar as Catwoman is my absolute, all time favorite and sexiest, and I LOVE it that they're bringing that look back...LOL

I LOVE me some Nolan Batman, and will hate to see it end.  However, I actually breathed a sigh of relief when he said he wasn't going to be involved with the JLA.  It just isn't a good fit.  (It wouldn't have been bad if he did it, but I just think there are better directors out there for it.)

In my dream world, I think Kenneth Brannagh would direct, and Damon Lindelof would write it.  Hell, even get JJ & Damon to team up on this property and I'd be giddy.  However, I'm going to be sweatting bullets until they get a director because I'm so afraid they are going to screw this up.

If you put a gun to my head today, I'd say TDKR will trounce Amazing Spider-Man, and finish a respectable, not too distant 2nd to Avengers at the Box Office.  I think this movie is the most anticipated movie I've ever waited for, with maybe the exception of Star Wars Ep I.

I'm pretty certain that Chris Nolan is not a retard and even though he grounded Batman in reality (a character with no superpowers btw) he can grasp the fantasy elements or any element needed to make a Justice League. You mofos are something else.

HookedonAvengers, being within $100 million of each other is not being close homie.

Get Alfonso Cuaron on Justice League.  That's what WB needs to do.  Either that or the next Bat franchise.  That cat needs to show mofos what's up.

You ARE allowed to like BOTH Avengers AND Batman you know...

I'm still hoping The new Batman ONLY appears on the big screen in the Justice League movie while heading up a full on live action TV show at the same time...

SarcasticCaveman 7/9/2012 2:33:22 PM

THANK you for your permission to go see both, Bunyon! :P I plan on doing just that...probably see TDKR twice as I did with Avengers...however, my two tickets alone will not bring it even close to the numbers that The Avengers did.  Can't wait to see it twice though.

You KNOW that Warner Bros. are kicking themselves that Whedon never got to make Wonder Woman now!

And the pleasure is all mine, SC!

Hell yeah they are!  He would have been the perfect man for the job...wonder when they're going to start firing these brainiac execs who decide to walk away from big budget and good director in favor of an NBC pilot that never sees the light of day.
