By the Numbers: The FRIDAY THE 13th Films

Counting the murderous statistics of Jason Voorhees over the years

While watching the latest installment in the FRIDAY THE 13th series, JASON X, we couldn't help but notice that the characters kept claiming that notorious slasher, killer, and general ne'er-do-well Jason Voorhees had claimed "over 200" victims during the course of his illustrious career. Now, admittedly JASON X takes place in the near future (before jumping into the far future), so it's possible that he killed some hapless scientists and horny teenagers that we don't know about in the time between the previous film and this one, but still, that "over 200" number sounded a bit ambitious... so to speak.

So what to do, but go back and pour through the previous nine FRIDAY THE 13TH films and take a body count ourselves. And you know what? We were rightthere were only 147 murders in all the films preceding JASON X. And that's including the killings committed by psychos other than Jason in Part One and Part Five! Sure, it's possible Jason took out a load of victims we don't know about between Part Nine and Part Ten (JASON X). Or did the filmmakers fudge the numbers to make Jason sound better (or is that worse)? You be the judge, and feel free to use our computations for each film below.
