Awesome from Chuck!

Krasinski, I think could pull it off,  He really showed his range in Away We Go, and did a little action in Leatherheads. Plus he passes the all important chin test, cover the rest of his face like the mask would and the chin still has character.

I just watched Pandorum and was thinking that Ben Foster would make a good Cap. Unfortunately he's already appeared in a Marvel U film as Angel in X3. He showed a powerful screen presence in Alpha Dog and Pandorum, and in The Messenger he showed the kind of emotional weight that weighs on someone who's suffered the terrible losses that Steve Rodgers has. Plus in Alpha Dog he was pretty cut, and kicked some major ass, too bad he was a white supremasist, Cap could be retribution.

Ben Foster geah! now were talking.

I honestly REEEAAALLY like Michael Cassidy for Cap. I actually always thought he would make for a great Superman from back in his days on the OC. He is a very good actor, and when bulked up definitely would have the physical presence (He's like 6'4).

I also like Scott Porter as well. Though I do know he actually is a big comic nerd, and actually said he wants the role of Hawkeye.

Krasinski is completely wrong. Not at all the type of person I could see leading a batallion on the front lines.

Jasinner I could definitly see Ben Foster in the role. He is a great actor and could certainly do the role, but I doubt anyone is looking at Him.

John Krasinski - while I can't see him in the role I think he could probably pull it off. I mena I've never seen him in a role where he was even angery but, the guy can act and he has the look. Great chin.

Patrick Fluger - I remember liking him in the 4400 but I haven't seen him in awhile so I'll go woth a big maybe on that one.

Chace Crawford - I actually do like him more then I think most of the people here do. So I could see him as cap, that is until I try to picture him leading the I don't know. Though if Marvel see's something in him again maybe. It wouldn't upset me anyway.

As far as the rest I haven't seen their work or if I have they weren't good enough to make a mark on me.

Anyway, I like some of these guys but to be honest I'm surprised there aren't any bigger names up for the part being as they will one day be leading the Avengers and it would be a sham if cap got overshadowed by the likes of Downey, and fingers crossed he'll reprise the role Norton. I'm not sure if any of the names on the short list could keep pace with those two. Then again, he did hold his own with Clooney so...

I actually like Scott Porter myself.  What I think might be blessing in disguse is that if you get a kid with talent then you got the mentors to bring him up.  Hell look at when Keanu Reeves had to share the screen with Pacino.  Most of the guys look like that could fit the bill, but Scott Porter is the best as far as the look and stuature.  I think Chace Crawford could make a good Buckey

I could definetly see Scott Porter for the role out of the list. I haven't seen Krasinski's "intensity" before but who knows. Ben Foster is a great choice for Captain America, he's sorta been a Marvel go-to for secondary characters and he's highly underrated. I can just picture Ben Foster as Steve Roger's as he's being transformed into the super soldier and the sheer look of panic in his eyes.

Ben Foster all the way! He's earned this role for paying his dues as secondary characters in The Punisher and Xmen 3, both of which he stole the scene.

I always thought Steve Rogers was a bit older. 35 to 40, at least. I agree that they ought to be careful on how they cast this part. Whoever steps into Captain America's shoes should be good at acting. Not just some pretty boy who can put on the costume.

fft5305: Yes, Mark Valley sure does look the part. So he's 45. I think he could pull it off. All of the others are close to that age. Not 20-somethings. Why can't Captain America be older, too?

krathwardroid 2/24/2010 11:56:14 PM

Take great care in this casting choice! Remember, they almost cast Tom Cruise as Tony Stark! They got it right with Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, so please get it right with Captain America.

ben foster is such a great actor and would probably be awesome if he got to carry the shield, given that he is tied to x-men he probably cant for some contract reason. from this list i am pulling for Kraninski, i think he would do a good job and has "the look", but i am still holding out for Jensen Ackles to wear the red white and blue
