Exactly, Soulesscorpse. I'm wondering the same thing. I feel like there should be at least one more Batman film by this group.

In this three year wait between the release of The Dark Knight and the launch of production on Christopher Nolan's third installment, The Dark Knight Rises, a few actors have been happy to oblige media outlets with frequent updates. Actor Gary Oldman has been one of those happy contributors to the press and here's another example. While making the circuit rounds for his participation in Red Riding Hood, he sat down with MTV Movies to discuss the upcoming project.
When asked about the story itself and whether Nolan's next Bats tale would wrap up the trilogy in a satisfactory manner, here's what Oldman had to say to the fans.
"It's a great, great story. You look at 'The Dark Knight' and you think, 'How's he going to top it?' But I think he has," says Oldman. For the tone of the third installment, he adds""The scope and also the way he [Nolan] brings it back to 'Batman Begins' and really what Bruce Wayne discovers about himself. What he learns about himself at the end of this one."

Exactly, Soulesscorpse. I'm wondering the same thing. I feel like there should be at least one more Batman film by this group.
This is not Earth-One Batman, Wayne Manor will take years if not a decade to rebuild, so who knows, the grey hair would suggest it's some time later...
Going back to Batman Begins sounds like League of Shadows are back, as I said before I think that Bane and Catwoman are probably LoS ninja, working for Talia to finish the job her daddy started...
As this is the last film, from what he says about what Bruce learns it seems he survives, perhaps, but you never know, maybe not. It will probably go out with a bang, though, maybe featuring a whole glut of Batman villains in the first act, as Batman cleans up Gotham from the shadows as an outlaw, blink and your miss them cameos from Riddler, Mad Hatter, Scarcrow, Zzazz, maybe a more realistic 'tattooed man' version of Killer Croc but alldealt with quickly just to give a bit more depth, before Bat and Selina come to town to take down the Bat and ALMOST succeeds...
What is the liklihood that Bane destroys Bruce like in the comics, but then has a change of heart and takes his place?
Bruce and Selina then get married and Bane emerges as the new Batman...
YES BANE IS THE NEXT BATMAN!
I also have a feeling that Alfred will die and Bruce will take his place as Batman's back-up guy...
But as he is no longer the Bat he can finally have a life, knowing that someone is continuing his work!
Or that kid from Batman Begins, the one on the balcony and during the arkham escape will turn out to be Jason Todd and Bruce and Selina adopt and begin his training, not as Robin but as Bane's replacement in a decade or so...
Lots of assumptions, Bunyon...not commenting positive or negative, just saying...personally, I don't think anybody, even Nolan, would take such liberties with the characters. We'll see though. If what you suppose comes to be, I'm glad I'm a Marvel fan instead of a DC fan...lol.
I like the way Gary Oldman said, "I can't say anything. I am sworn to secrecy." LOL! With his British accent, it made him sound like a noble spy being interrogated by the enemy.
Yeah, just throwing ideas around, really...
It is good to be a Marvel at the moment!
I have a great deal of love for both companies, and with all things you love they let you down sometimes...
But you still love them :-)
They HAVE to finish it with this movie, and Bruce can't be the Bat forever...
But the Nolan version is an Elseworlds, just look at Red Son or Red Rain, more liberties were taken than Bane becoming the new Batman... hehehe
sorry about writing sooo much stuff, the Comics2Film debate is always on my mind, in the comics Batman's first appearance in 1939 was maybe just five years ago in the timeline of the comic, so translating that to films is very hard... What do you keep and what do you omit?
I feel an essay coming on :-)
The mansion and the bat cave have not even been built yet... So I do not understand if this wraps everything up...what was that all about?
