Sony Pictures has released a new poster for Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man 2. To say this poster is electrifying would be a bit much right? I’m just thrilled that the true Spider-Man costume is back!

The Plot: In the 2014 sequel, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away – but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Sally Field and Chris Cooper.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 arrives May 2nd, 2014.

Oh look, it's a shot of the back of the hero overlloking the darkened cityscape!  What a great creative poster!  I can't wait to see Inception...I mean Star trek: Into Darkness...I mean Dark Knight, sorry The Iceman, or was it, it was, Battleship, definitely Battleship.  Wait...I'm excited to see Battleship?  That can't be right.

Honestly, I fantasize about Marvel getting the rights back for Spider-Man. I hope they hire Raimi and Maguire back and clean-up from where Spider-Man 3 left off. It just looks like Sony is going to run this into the ground causing a Batman & Robin fiasco that will shut everything down. A Venom movie? Sinister Six movie? It sounds mean, but I can't help but want this to crash so Marvel can get it all back.

I would love for Marvel to get the rights back to all their characters, but too many people, myself included, think this movie looks entertaining enough to shell out money for it. As long as that happens Sony will NEVER let go of the rights to a franchise that pretty much prints money for them.

They'd certainly never hire back Raimi or Maguire at this point. Hell, I don't think I'd even feel comfortable watching a new Raimi/Maguire Spider-Man flick.

That being said, I don't have much in the way of feelings or thoughts on their whole Villain Franchise thing they've got in the works. At worst we get one or two crappy movies and they stop. At best we get a bunch of awesome movies.

This poster seems to lack balance. And I don't mean the angles, I mean the composition looks unbalanced. It feels like someone accidentally cropped the image wrong and forgot to fix it.  Then again, there is something I like about it...

I think this looks awesome. The poster evokes to mind some of the great comic book covers of the past.

I love what Sony is doing and happy, mostly, with their treatment of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and his mythos.

I agree with reek, but posters like this are now for the masses. Mondo and a lot of the other companies put out posters that feature some real creative thinking. Those are the ones worth waiting for.

It's just a teaser poster yall! Damn..... !

I wish I could paint something like that

All I know is that Sony is not f*cking on Spiderman like Fox is the X-Men. Ol' Webhead is getting it done right this time around. I hope that Sony keeps it going! I cannot wait to see this movie!

I also hope that Sony are not dicks like Fox and allow Spiderman to appear in at least one of the Avengers movies. All they have to do is cross licence and then share in some of the profits. I mean really, The Avengers plus Spiderman? That movie would make 2 billion in America alone.
