Yahoo Movies has released the first 3 minutes of the upcoming sci-fi adventure I AM LEGEND online while the movie itself premieres tomorrow in theaters around the globe. To check it out, click here. The film stars Will Smith, Alice Braga, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Willow Smith and Charlie Tahan. Francis Lawrence directed the film, based on a screenplay by Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman.

Plot Summary: Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable... and manmade. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City... and maybe the world. But he is not alone. He is surrounded by "the Infected"—victims of the plague who have mutated into carnivorous beings who can only exist in the dark and who will devour or infect anyone or anything in their path. For three years, Neville has spent his days scavenging for food and supplies and faithfully sending out radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. All the while, the Infected lurk in the shadows, watching Neville's every move, waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But his blood is also what The Infected hunt, and Neville knows he is outnumbered and quickly running out of time.

So, if that is the first 3 minutes,,,is the part where everyone is a live in the trailer and the Brooklyn Bridge being blown up told in like a flashback or something? I am very pumped to see this movie. I will be there tomorrow night and enjoying every minute of it it.

I'm doing my best to avoid that damn link up there! Can't wait to see this tomorrow!
Anyone know if the IMAX version is any different than the regular theatrical cut?

This sounds kind of terrifying. Is it going to be as disturbing as it looks? I was thoroughly messed up by the God Still Loves Us site and how it is involved with I Am Legend. God Still Loves Us Here's where I saw that...What does God Still Loves Us have to do with this movie? I'm confused, but excited...

I ran across that site surfing the other day, dhampir. Does that really have something to do with this movie? I didn't sign up so I was unable to testify. Not seeing the connection, not that that means anything.

I am so tired of Mr. Will "mug for the camera in every movie 'cuz I'm an a$$" Smith! He is not a tough guy! Please stop casting him as a tough guy, it's riduculous! This would have been a better movie if they had cast someone like "Vin Diesel five years ago"! Oh and what's with the grey hair? Didn't you ever hear of "just for men gel"? It didn't work for Tom Cruise in Collateral and it does work for you, you a$$! Please go back to rapping so you can stop ruining movies! Puh-leeeeeeeee-ssssss

NotAFan, you really need to lay off the sugar. You get way too excited over the strangest things...

I got into a press screening of it Tuesday nite. THe non IMAX version and first and foremost I was pleasently surprised. Before it they had the trailer for 10 000 BC and a trailer for DK mind you it was not the over 5 minute version that is suppose to be shown before the IMAX version. This being said it was at least 2 minuites in length and had alot of footage including numerous different scenes with Joker. It looks like it might be pretty good flick. Now here is the interesting thing on the way out of the screening for lack of a better term they were handing out Gotham Times "newspapers"with various articles that seemed to deal with stuff that takes place durning Dark Knight. Maybe someone can post if wherever they see this if they were handing these out or if I got a very unique/interesting collectable.

1. your guess is correct. 2. Having seen regular size IAL [see http://www.mania.com/galaga51/reviews/286.html for my attempt at a review], I think IMAX would be awesome, but other than the Bat featurette, no I don't think they're different. 3&4. Is it connected? I wouldn't doubt it. Well, the phrase is spoken in the film (I think) and there definitely is a plague, hence the biohazard. I can't remember if that particular logo is in any shots. 5. No kidding. Maybe showing the opening in is better than a trailer for some people since you aren't "woken out of the film" half way through thinking "oh yeah, I remember that in the trailer." 6. yawn... lame. [rolling eyes at 12 yr old] 7. Again, he's Not A Fan. 8. I didn't get a TDK trailer with my screening. Darn. Could you send in some scans/pics of the paper?

Thanks galaga51. IMAX it is!
Akalel - my local comic shop was offering the same newspaper for free. It's kinda neat but probably not very rare.
