McGowan is Still Set for Rodriguez's BARBARELLA? - Apr 12, 2008 - 12:44am
"I agree, Rose is no the right person for this part. She's no Jane Fonda. I don't find Rose attractive at all." --TayDor
I don't find the young Jane Fonda attractive either.
Nevertheless, Rose McGowan wouldn't be my first choice for the lead role. I would have gone with her CHARMED co-star, Alyssa Milano.
No More FANTASTIC FOUR?? - Mar 26, 2008 - 01:12pm
Walk away, Chris Evans. Walk away. We can always find another cocky actor to play Johnny Storm.
God is Satan, jedibanner. Satan is God. Long live the Dark Sith.
Sneak Peek at JERICHO'S Series Finale - Mar 26, 2008 - 01:09pm
Of course it was rushed. They compacted what the initially planned 14 episodes or so (for the second season) into 7 episodes that the CBS idiots ordered.
Despite that, it was good storytelling. No more soap-ish as ALIAS or DS9 for that matter.
CBS Cancels JERICHO Again. - Mar 25, 2008 - 12:37am
It's official. Regardless of gender, the suits at CBS are a bunch of idiots.
Segal Addresses Rumors of SHAZAM - Mar 18, 2008 - 02:46pm
Though the Rock can sometimes act childish (thanks to his showmanship training at WWE/WWF), he should ask Tom Hank (who starred in BIG, about a kid who wished to be an adult and came true for a while) about being 13 again.
Either that or Jennifer Garner.
Affleck Ready to Adapt BLADE ITSELF - Mar 11, 2008 - 03:34pm
It appears that as long as Ben Affleck works behind the camera instead of the front, he'll do good.
The older Affleck should step aside and make way for his younger brother, Casey.
Special Edition INDY DVDS May 13 - Mar 03, 2008 - 03:38pm
"No love for BluRay? I'm out."
Puh-lease! Until Sony relinquish patent on Blu Ray or they will offer $100 (or less) Blu-Ray player/recorders on the market, I'll stick to my first-gen DVD player. Only richie-rich would make such a statement (with their fancy-schmancy iPod from them Rotten Apple).
CBS Picks Up MYTHO X and U.K's NY-LON - Feb 28, 2008 - 04:39pm
You call that an extremely long-distance relationship? New York to London? Don't make me laugh.
New Line Pulled into Warner Bros. - Feb 28, 2008 - 04:34pm
Coming to a theater near you...
HARRY POTTER & THE HALF-BLOOD LORD OF THE RINGS.
BIONIC WOMAN Officially Axed by NBC? - Feb 21, 2008 - 11:08pm
Well, that sucks. It has a better premise than the original one (a professional tennis player who was linked to Steve Austin, aka Six Million Dollar Man, who was seriously injured during a skydiving accident).
I guess it wasn't exciting as ALIAS -- though audience would have cried "ripoff!" if they did follow that format. But she could have been given better missions.
I hope this doesn't sealed the fate of the BIONIC WOMAN franchise.
Arnett Replaced by Val Kilmer for K.I.T.T - Feb 08, 2008 - 02:12am
"This is how screwed up this country is where an actor is asked to be replaced because he voice a commercial for a competing car company? I don't even really know who this guy is but I mean that just completely sucks."
--videocide
Meh. GMC could opt to fire him. I'm guessing that Arnett is much safer (and richer) doing voice-over for any GMC commercials than doing voice-over for KNIGHT RIDER.
Arnett Replaced by Val Kilmer for K.I.T.T - Feb 07, 2008 - 06:32pm
"I thought Arnett as KITT was the only good thing this show had going for it. Now there is ABSOLUTELY no need for me to watch it."
--Flint521466
Nah. Arnett's voice irked the turd out of me. (In a way, it's good for my irregularity. Still...)
Val Kilmer is good but I'd rather have the original voice if not Kelsey Grammer.
Besides, it's Arnett's decision to remove himself out of respect with his working relationship with GMC.
Destro Has been Cast?? - Jan 30, 2008 - 03:54pm
Umm, shouldn't Vosloo be Destro and Murray be Zartan?
Producer and Star Talk New KNIGHT RIDER - Jan 29, 2008 - 02:59pm
"Does anyone else remember "a series about a crime fighter in a morphing Dodge Viper which converts to a super equipped vehicle." --MercurialHyperbole
You mean that KNIGHT RIDER rip-off, VIPER, featuring an actual Dodge Viper? It's got AMC written all over it. "Hey! Let's make a one-hour weekly commercial!"
Del Toro Directing Both HOBBIT Films - Jan 29, 2008 - 02:52pm
GdT and PJ.
I dunno. I see them butting heads throughout the films' production over creative differences.
Weta Workshop Handling JLA Costumes - Jan 07, 2008 - 10:23am
I'm glad they went with NZ-based WETA because US-based ILM sucks.
And that's coming from an Orion living in America.
Kristin Kreuk Leads STREET FIGHTER - Dec 21, 2007 - 03:53pm
So, she'll have to bulk up like Linda Hamilton in TERMINATOR 2. And be as skilled as Carrie-Ann Moss in MATRIX.
New Line/Peter Jackson Case Settled, Jackson Produces HOBBIT - Dec 19, 2007 - 11:26am
"Bob Shaye's tone has changed. Anyone else think his earlier outrageous statements got him into trouble with his stokholders and Co-CEO."
I'm surprised he hasn't cleaned out his office.
Storm Shadow & Scarlett Cast for G.I JOE - Dec 19, 2007 - 11:24am
As for Rachel Nichols, she kicked butts for one season in ALIAS (I think Jennifer Garner swore off action film since ELEKTRA bombed in theaters). She can definitely kick ass in GI JOE.
Storm Shadow & Scarlett Cast for G.I JOE - Dec 19, 2007 - 11:09am
"What I don`t understand is why they just couldn`t cast a Japanese actor for Storm Shadow. After all, well... he freaking Japanese, not Korean, Chinese, Thai, or any other Asian nationality. I wonder if anyone would be upset if they cast a Brit, Kiwi, German or Aussie as Flint, Duke, or General Hawk."
Well, we had a Puerto Rican portrayed a popular Mexican Tejano music star. see SERENA.
We had a Canadian portrayed an American starship captain from Iowa. see STAR TREK.
We had a Elginite portrayed a San Franciscan. see JOURNEYMAN.
Personally, I would cast Oh Ji-ho...

WGA Files Charges Against AMPTP with NLRB - Dec 14, 2007 - 06:52pm
"WhiteKnight I believe the ultimatum they're referring to is taking DVD royalties off the table. The WGA agreed to take either internet or DVD revenue off the table in exchange for the other, and the Producers aren't willing to give them either, which halted negotiations."
Is that a good thing? I mean, let's face it, like downloadable music, downloadable videos are going to get bigger than its physical medium (i.e., VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, HD DVD) in the long run.
Updated: How Long Before Your Shows Go Dark? - Dec 14, 2007 - 06:48pm
"I agree with ELVISGUMP, who the hell watches some of this crap? How does a show like Caveman even stay on the air when great shows get the axe after 2 or 3 episodes?" --mike10
Oh, god, I hope you're not referring to VIVA LAUGHLIN.
Not only should ElvisGump should cut back on caffeine, he should also cut back on air.
Oh, was that too harsh?
New K.I.T.T Car Polished & Ready to Roll - Dec 13, 2007 - 07:54pm
"Jake...and the Fatman...."
Supertrain.
The Powers of Matthew Starr.
Starman Returns.
Steven Bochco presents Barbarella (with MA rating and cute nekkid butts).
New K.I.T.T Car Polished & Ready to Roll - Dec 13, 2007 - 07:47pm
"I still don`t get why NBC is trying to bring back the late 80`s early 90`s with this and American Gladiators. The strike must really be hitting them hard." --ponyboy76
Well, I can understand KNIGHT RIDER. Loved that show.
The return of AMERICAN GLADIATORS leaves me confuzzled.
New K.I.T.T Car Polished & Ready to Roll - Dec 13, 2007 - 09:24am
"K.I.T.T. just doesn't seem quite right as a Stang... " -- sportswarrior
Seems quite right to me, as Knight Industries 3000 (Three Thousand). :)
My only gripe is that instead of William Daniels, the raspy, whispering Will Arnett will be the voice of the new car.
NBC Reveals Early 2008 Lineup - Dec 07, 2007 - 02:05pm
You're right.
You're on a freakin' movie website.
Screenwriters may not be as courageous as our front-line soldiers, doesn't mean they deserve to be treated and paid less than their worth.
But a labor strike of any kind is about as American as apple pie. Our society created this since the days of the Industrial Revolution.
We may be in a war (that you don't support), but that doesn't mean we should stop living because that's what our enemies want.
So do what you gotta do to keep on living your life as normal as possible. It's what our soldiers are fighting our enemies for. If that means you'll have to go on strike with your fellow co-workers to get what you so rightfully deserve to earn, then so be it.
But if you want to whine and wallow at the sad state of our society, then you're letting the enemies win.
CBS Films Takes on BEASTLY - Dec 06, 2007 - 04:59pm
This is something I would expect in a Spanish telenovela (see Besos Robados).
But a student-teacher romance is not something for the American audience, especially in light of many news incidents.
Snake Eyes Cast For G.I JOE - Dec 06, 2007 - 04:56pm
Now I know how Snake-Eye is born.
Someone's an AMERICAN NINJA fan.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WGA Strike Delays CASTLEVANIA - Dec 06, 2007 - 04:53pm
I don't think CASTLEVANIA is something you can make a story out of and then adapt to film.
Chung Finds Love in DRAGON BALL Z - Dec 06, 2007 - 04:51pm
"i really hope they dont f*** this movie up."
How can they screw it up? By making it a serious film? Ha!
The New K.I.T.T Revealed? - Nov 30, 2007 - 04:11pm
Why is KITT not a sporty SUV?
Trans Am sucks. No one drives a Trans Am anymore. Good choice on the Ford Mustang.
Three More Join KNIGHT RIDER - Nov 29, 2007 - 04:57pm
"First off let me say that almost ten years ago there was a show on UPN called Team Knight Rider and it sucked and tanked, I know that know one will remember that show,..." -- MovieMan
No one else but you.
Three More Join KNIGHT RIDER - Nov 29, 2007 - 04:54pm
That name is no dumber than a comic-book name, like Dazzler.
Maggie Q is Silver Fox in WOLVERINE? - Nov 26, 2007 - 11:44am
Hmm. Hugh Jackman, Maggie Q, and Kelly Hu.
Maybe we should rename the film, WEAPON XXX.
Jet Li Breaks Salary Record for WARLORDS - Nov 26, 2007 - 11:41am
You're right about statement #6, bjjdenver.
Despite a few successes, even Jackie Chan couldn't make decent films produced by Hollywood.
Leave it to Hollywood and America to screw up Asian foreign leading actors.
WGA Update: BSG & BIONIC Shut Down - Nov 16, 2007 - 05:18pm
"I just feel bad for all of the OTHER people, like camera dude, all the little peple that will be out of work because of this...... I'm bummed!" --Watchtower7
Perhaps but I'm sure the camera dudes also belong to some kind of a union, and if it's time for their contracts to be negotiated, they will also think about the option to strike if the media industry leaders won't budge to their terms.
JLA Cast Possibly Locked & Ready - Nov 14, 2007 - 06:09pm
"NOOOO WHY WONT they listen to FANS" --zack2366
Because they like wasting their own money.
Greenwood Captains Crew in STAR TREK - Nov 08, 2007 - 06:40pm
I thought Captain Robert April is the original captain of Connie-class Enterprise NCC-1701. At least he was in command of the ship's shakedown cruise mission.
Kring Apologizes to HEROES Fans - Nov 08, 2007 - 06:36pm
AFAIC, the pace isn't too slow, but yeah you could quicken it just a hair.
As for Maya and Alejandro's introduction, I would've just start with them meeting Sylar in jail or where they met him unconscious on the road.
Monica's introduction wasn't so bad. She has her genius cousin. I wondered why the genius cousin weren't around when Mohinder dropped by.
Plot Details Online for ONIMUSHA Film - Nov 08, 2007 - 06:31pm
Oh, gawd. Sounds like THE LAST SAMURAI or SHOGUN, that features gaijin characters.
Yeah, the Western world is not ready for Asian leading actors.
:(
Hasbro Clarifies G.I JOE Storyline - Nov 07, 2007 - 07:07pm
"As for G.I.Joe, sorry to burst anyones bubble, but the same goes for it. It was a commercial used to sell useless hunks of plastic to 10 year olds. I loved the cartoon, watched it every day, and hope the movie follows the it, not the lesser known comic, and not the older 60's-70's version." --gauleyboy420
Well, duh! That promotional formula dates back to black-n-white TV kid's shows. Why do you think George Lucas kept his STAR WARS IP for himself (and not sell it to 20th Century Fox)?
ONIMUSHA Begins Production April 2008 - Nov 03, 2007 - 02:44am
Meh. Despite that this will be a samurai fantasy film, I'm hoping it would an authentic Japanese film, with English subtitles (not dubbed voice-over) for English-literate audience.
I hope ABARENBO SHOGUN's Matsudaira Ken will be in it, as some old mentor or villain.
The guy in the artwork above looked like a Korean actor in a K-drama titled SKY HIGH.
Shatner Talks STAR TREK Snub - Oct 29, 2007 - 03:23pm
I'm more concerned about the story than in the cast. If you're trying to write a story around William Shatner as Kirk, that would be about as wrong as writing a story around Pamela Anderson as Barb Wire.
Lore-wise, if the beginning of the film's story takes place in 24th-Century before you time-travel back, then the elder Kirk is pretty much dead a la STAR TREK: GENERATION. The only ones left we know is Spock. (Scotty is also alive but we already lost James Doohan.)
Besides, I don't think Kirk is the kind of figure to retire to greener pasture as Dr. McCoy. I don't like seeing the elder Kirk walking around with his mouth open and drooling and riding around in a mobiized "wheelchair." He's the kind of icon that would die young before he resorts to using a walker to travel to a retirement home.
If you want JJ Abrams to canned the story he has and rewrite a new one that includes William Shatner as Kirk, then it'll be a whole year before they get this production restarted.
Your 25 Greatest Action Heroes - Oct 26, 2007 - 01:04am
Wait a minute. Steven Seagal is better than Toshiro Mifune?
IMNSHO, the list is as crappy as Metalwater's legal prowess!!!
Kiefer Gets 48, Rodriguez Gets 6 Months - Oct 18, 2007 - 08:39pm
"Michelle Rodriguez unlike Parisite, Smears and Limpey has talent."
--SONYMANswallows
So's Robert Downey Jr, and he went through a lot of troubles with alcohol, including sleeping in someone else's child's bedroom.
Sorry, but talent or no talent, you suck miserably when you let alcohol control your life. If you think you need to chug down alcohol because of your hectic career, then maybe you need a career change.
Raimi Insists Jackson Should Do HOBBIT - Oct 18, 2007 - 08:35pm
"Given how well the LotR trilogy did, if anyone had any brains the Hobbit and other Tolkien stories would have already been made into movies."
--cjclifford
THE HOBBIT? Yeah, but New Line wanted to screw with PJ, money-wise. Glad to hear they're mending fences, at least from New Line meeting halfway.
The other Tolkien stories? Unlikely. Tolkien Estate, not Tolkien Enterprises (the owner of LOTR and HOBBIT film rights) owns the rest of his works, and trustee Christopher Tolkiens (JRR's son) is unwilling to sell film rights to them for as long as he is still breathing.
IOW, it'll be a long while before the SILMARILLION will be adapted from print to motion picture.
Urban Confirmed as Bones for STAR TREK - Oct 18, 2007 - 08:28pm
"Now here's my Star Trek cast: James McAvoy, from The Last King Of Scotland as Spock...Matt Damon heading the cast as Kirk...Giovanni Ribisi as Bones, and Gerard Butler as Scotty."
--metalwater
Don't quit your day job, unless you're a casting director/agent, then you should quit and move out of Hollywood fast.
Zachary Quinto is a better Spock than James McAvoy. James McAvoy is better off as Scotty.
Matt Damon no longer want to be Kirk, nor involved in the movie.
Giovanni Ribisi as Bones??? Hollywood should have a permanent restraining order against you, staying 10 miles away from the perimeter.
As for Karl Urban, he could pass off as Bones.
Carly Pope Added to Fox's 24 - Oct 11, 2007 - 06:20pm
It's been a long time since Carly was on WB's show POPULAR.
There is still a major question mark on whether the judge will be lenient to Kiefer so he can return to his leading Bauer role, or send him to prison for both DUI and parole violation.
SERENITY Sequel on the Horizon? - Oct 05, 2007 - 05:42pm
"Didn't Tuydk's character die in Serenity?"
Yep. Wash is dead. If he's going to be in a sequel, it has to be in flashback scenes or he turned up as Wash's twin brother or a double.
Karl Urban Causing Havoc in STAR TREK? - Oct 01, 2007 - 03:00pm
Meh. Karl makes a better Klingon than a Romulan.
So, I'm guessing he goes back in time disguised as a Vulcan (what a shocker) and kill Kirk.
With Leonard Nimoy reprising his Spock role, that could mean the film's story must begin while he was on Romulus (see TNG "Reunification" episode) to discover the Romulan plot.
Wahlberg Hasn't Seen G.I JOE Script - Oct 01, 2007 - 02:52pm
Nah, the movie has to be darker than what is depicted in the comic book series, though not too dark to earn an R rating.
I'm worried that some of the JOE's gears and hardware will be too over-the-top. Let just say I have traumatic flashbacks of MEGA-FORCE.
James Marsters Returns to SMALLVILLE - Sep 28, 2007 - 02:31pm
James Marster is not a boy, and DAWSON'S CREEK is way back in the 90's. Them kids are in their middle-age crisis by now. Grow up already and welcome to the new millenium.
As for being ripped off from TERMINATOR, why not? Nanotechnology is better than old-fashioned robotics these days, even though the only successful freestanding robot we have in the real world is that ASIMO from Honda.
Doug Liman Transforms KNIGHT RIDER - Sep 28, 2007 - 02:27pm
A walking battloid mode?
Nope, that's not badass. That's over the top.
If anything, they'll borrow elements from the less popular VIPER show.
Tyrese Gibson For GREEN LANTERN in JLA? - Sep 28, 2007 - 02:14pm
"some of the people who have been posting are betting between the black Green Lantern and Hale Jordan, the white and original Green Lantern."
Technically, the original GL is Alan Scott from the Golden Age Comic era.
I often refers John Stewart as GL II after the first Silver Age GL (Hal -- not Hale -- Jordan).
Abrams Has a New KIRK? - Sep 28, 2007 - 02:13pm
"Acting wise it can't be too hard to find someone who's a better actor than Shatner."
Better actor? The Shat wasn't a better actor until he landed the Denny Crane role in BOSTON LEGAL. And that's well into her geriatric years.
Better actor for the Kirk role? Yeah, but then that's already fixated in our mind, like Harrison Ford is better suited as Han Solo in STAR WARS, or Jim Henson is the better voice actor for Kermit the Frog.
Jorja Fox Leaving the CSI Team - Sep 28, 2007 - 02:06pm
No love for Jorja Fox? And I thought I'd find more than some decently good folk here.
The Rock as CAPTAIN MARVEL or BLACK ADAM? - Sep 24, 2007 - 05:53pm
"He fits Captain Marvel ABSURDEDLY, maybe if Billy Batsons family was run over by surfers and they replaced Greek mythology with Hawaiian mythology."
Well, this is the first racist statement that have nothing to do with blacks.
OBTW, Dwayne is half-Samoan, not half-Hawaiian. SO GET THE FACT STRAIGHT!!!
Lucas Details Both STAR WARS Shows - Sep 21, 2007 - 01:32pm
"Sci F should pick this up. Though granted Universal would have to pay for it and if they did it would probably end up on NBC."
I'd rather it be on a major OTA network than having to be forced to get cable to watch the show.
Maria Bello Knows Kung-Fu in MUMMY 3 - Sep 12, 2007 - 03:13pm
"they should have just made Bello O'Connells sister or cousin- not recast the part of Evelyn. Rachel Weisz created the character and despite her talent Bello just won't be the same flavor that Mummy fans are used to."
Then who will Brendan Fraser be smooching in the film? Is our society (i.e., Northern States) ready for kissing (and bedding) cousins (in-laws)?
Tobey Maguire Attacks in ROBOTECH - Sep 07, 2007 - 02:49pm
"Don't get me wrong, I liked the cartoon (but preferred the novels),"
There was a series of novels before the Japanese made SDF:MACROSS anime (or Harmony Gold USA made ROBOTECH)????
Tobey Maguire Attacks in ROBOTECH - Sep 07, 2007 - 02:43pm
"why dont they just adapt "SDF:MACROSS" as a live action movie?"
Because ROBOTECH -- particularly the MACROSS SAGA -- is more well known to the mainstream (as opposed to devoted anime fans), thanks to Harmony Gold USA.
Uhura Cast & Plot for Abrams' STAR TREK? - Sep 04, 2007 - 01:39pm
"This is the reason George Lucas said he will never allow "Time Travel" to be used in any Star Wars stories."
Because he made sure the characters (major and minor) of the STAR WARS UNIVERSE are not smart enough to realize that time travel is possible.
Sure, they discovered hyperspace but that's all science wrote for them.
But for STAR TREK XI, time travel plot device have been used too many times already, and of all the temporal-themed stories they have produced, overall they suck (and you'll have to thank Brannon Braga and his works on VOYAGER for that).
Update: Bay Back on TRANSFORMERS 2 - Aug 23, 2007 - 09:39pm
Mr. Bay, don't listen to those sad, pathetic, uncouthed PS3 and Blu-Ray owners. They're made by the folk who couldn't get the industry to consider Betamax as the standard videocassette format, and tries to secretly install rootkits.
Had you listened to them and still support Blu-Ray, you're just as pathetic as Uwe Boll.
Wahlberg, Statham Reunite For GI JOE? - Aug 21, 2007 - 09:31pm
"Duke=Thomas Hayden Church"
The dumb airplane mechanic from WINGS?!?!?!!!
No. Don't even convince me with his new look in SPIDER-MAN 3. His smile creeps me out, he should be cast as Tunnel Rat.
I can accept Mark Wahlberg as Sgt Duke, if the story will be about the origin of GI JOE.
As for Jason Stratham as Action Man (the only "Action Man" I can recall from my memory bank is a CG animated TV series about an extreme athlete that goes on some secret agent missions), it's the studio's attempt to globalize GI JOE. By itself, GI JOE is an organization that is made up of personnel from various US armed forces. Since the studio want to make GI JOE film worldly accepted, they want to add foreign allies into the mix.
Personally, GI JOE don't need assistance from non-Americans. That's why we're badasses.
Millennium Picks Up CONAN - Aug 21, 2007 - 09:23pm
"I second the call - NO MORE F'N Wrestlers.. They can not act.. they barely make wrestling enjoyable for children anymore.. And I dont care who the wrestler is.. ROCK .. Stone Cold.. HHH.. they are all TERRIBLE Actors.."
The same could be said of AH-nold Schwarzeneggar, a bodybuilder.
If we can tolerate him with having few lines to speak in CONAN THE BARBARIAN, we can survive any of the juiced-up WWE superstar portraying the Cimmerian in a new film. Besides, I prefer action (with gratuitous female nudities), not talk. Otherwise you might as well cast Patrick Stewart if you want Conan to make speeches.
Rose McGowan Strapping Leather in BARBARELLA? - Aug 21, 2007 - 09:11pm
Maybe it's me, but I'd rather cast an actress with C-cup breasts for Barbarella title role.
Although I'm willing to accept Natalie Martinez.
Can't believe Playboy or Penthouse won't jump on the chance to put money on such a film.
Kristen Bell Pivotal in HEROES - Aug 21, 2007 - 09:03pm
This is sweet news.
Also, as long as Tim Kring use more Trek alumni and avoid SW alumni, I'm content.
Quinto & Nimoy Talk SPOCK - Aug 21, 2007 - 08:59pm
"Count me out. Sorry this is Star Trek...we're supposed to go where no man has gone before."
Like when we traveled with VOYAGER into the Delta Quadrant? I'd gouge my eyes out with a spork!!!!
It's not "where no man has gone before" anymore. It's where the "human adventures continue..."
McGill Overseas BIONIC WOMAN - Aug 02, 2007 - 04:37pm
No, he runs the bionic project over the sea.
BAH-HAHAHAHA!!!
Does Jarrod means "oversees" or "overseas"?
Damon Will NOT Be Kirk - Jul 30, 2007 - 08:18pm
"Although I am interested in this, I guess I really don't care who plays who in this movie, as long as it totally kicks ass. SO who is Matt Damon playing? A hard ass fleet commander or something like that?"
*thinks*
Ben Finney, Kirk's instructor at the Academy.
See TOS episode, "Court Martial."
Either him or Christopher Pike.
Comic Con: Spock Confirmations and Kirk - Jul 27, 2007 - 12:40am
"This Movie, It's a mistake. Leave the past alone. Kirk is OVER. Roddenberry was a FORWARD thinking visionary. So let's move forward not back. Many fans have said as much. someone needs to tell J.J. this is not what the real fans want."
The real fans does not want Brannon Braga and Rick Berman, period. Even when they move forward, the films and TV series sucks ... TWICE (evidence exhibits A through D: INSURRECTION, NEMESIS, VOYAGER, and ENTERPRISE seasons 1-3).
The only person capable of doing prequels is Manny Coto. What he did for the fourth and final season (minus the series finale episode that were all B&B's doing) makes up for the B&B crap that were in all of the previous three seasons of ENTERPRISE.
It's not the concept itself. It's how you present and execute them.
August Talks SHAZAM Plot Details - Jul 24, 2007 - 06:25pm
That's the plot of the movie they're pitching for SHAZAM?
Can't they think of something better?
Stephen Chow as Kato in HORNET - Jul 24, 2007 - 06:23pm
"Its been a good number of years since I used to glimpse at (dont think I ever saw a full episode) The Green Hornet show, so please correct me if Im wrong, but isnt this about a rich playboy and his driver who, at night, dress up like a rich playboy and his driver (only in green and with sleeping masks) and fight crime?"
Well, I don't know if the TV version ever mentioned him being a descendant of the Lone Ranger.
"As for it being made as a comedy, I dont doubt it. The concept is not new. I remember a few years back the rumor of a Green Lantern movie with Jack Black (God help us) in the title role. Besides, it worked for the Fantastic Four."
Perhaps, but one of the four players is a comedian, who later did THE COMMISH (a lighthearted drama series about a police commissioner with unorthodox methods) and THE SHIELD (gritty police drama).
I'm having a problem seeing Seth Rogan as the Green Hornet. The Tick, definitely but not GH.
Morales Takes On JERICHO - Jul 24, 2007 - 06:08pm
"What, however, does that have to do with your opinion that the show is overrated?"
Because bdd wanted KID NATION (which will be taking over JERICHO's original timeslot) to succeed.
Why? I have my suspicion.
CBS, NBC Announce Premiere Schedule - Jul 20, 2007 - 03:46pm
"Criminal Minds lost Patakin, who was the only reason I kept watching. You can get the same character dynamics and story lines watching Bones."
Considering that Mandy Patinkin skipped the taping of the season premiere episode, I'm glad it's called CRIMINAL MIND rather than the MANDY PATINKIN MYSTERY SHOW.
When the leading actor/actress decided to act diva-tude and make the rest of the cast and crew waiting, that actor/actress needs to consider another employment.
Seth Rogen As The GREEN HORNET? - Jul 20, 2007 - 03:36pm
I've always thought Seth Rogan would be better cast as the Blue Beetle.
I guess that also makes Green Hornet's ancestor, the legendary Lone Ranger, Jewish.
I'd rather go with Aaron Eckhart, or Adam Baldwin.
G.I JOE Update With Cobra - Jul 17, 2007 - 04:10am
"It would be sweet if they use the Classic Cobra Commander mask (the one in the pic)."
Nah, that would look comical and tacky in real life.
G.I JOE Update With Cobra - Jul 13, 2007 - 05:27pm
They're not going to copy BATMAN BEGINS, where they start up Operation: GI JOE to go after some terrorist cell, only to find near the end of the film, that the cell is funded by a more sinister organization (COBRA), are they?
TRANSFORMERS Writers Speak Out - Jul 12, 2007 - 11:03am
Maybe the origin of their forms will be explained in the extended edition DVD.
JLA Animated Movie Cast - Jul 12, 2007 - 10:55am
"David Boreanaz as Green Lantern? did Bones get axed?"
He'll be voicing the Green Lantern character for the animated direct-to-video film, not the animated series.
It's not like Neil Patrick Harris is going to give up his antic Barney role from the CBS sitcom, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
Yes, I will always remember Kyle from his TWIN PEAK days, but I will also remember his dentist character from DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES who is the first guy that gave an oral to the uptight Bree Van De Camp.
Star Trek Fan Experience continues with ODYSSEY. - Jul 09, 2007 - 04:52pm
"Are kiddin me Enterprise was a good show it had so much potential."
Only the fourth and sadly final season (minus the B&B-influenced finale episode) was the best over the three previous seasons combined. Manny Coto should have run the show from the beginning, not Berman & Braga.
Driver REVISIONED As Lara Croft - Jul 05, 2007 - 12:31am
I always imagine Lara Croft with a base Manchester cockney accent. Not that snooty London accent that irritates me.
PETA Angered At SPEED RACER - Jul 03, 2007 - 06:02pm
"I wonder how many of you anti PETA people are huge clueless Mcdonalds consuming losers who dont like Vegetables."
We like vegetables. They needed protection from ravenous vegans. That's why I'm forming PETP -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants.
Anyone who abuses vegetables will be ambushed with a hot dog in their face. Stole that idea from the creampie ambush.
Agron & Keating Join HEROES - Jul 03, 2007 - 05:57pm
Hmm. With all the new casting for the next season, I wonder if Tim Kring is still going ahead with the six-episode mini-series that would let us viewers choose the new character.
Routh Talks JLA and SUPES Sequel - Jul 02, 2007 - 09:00pm
They should get along like "peas and carrot" but you think I want to act like BROKEBACK JUSTICE LEAGUE.
Let the Bat be brooding and in the shadow. Let the Supe be in the spotlight. But don't make them look like the DC version of the Human Torch and the Thing.
If Raven and Robin can work together in the TITANS, so can Batman and Superman in the JL.
New Line Looking For CONAN - Jun 29, 2007 - 09:23pm
I don't care who does it, as long it is done (the story) well, and they're shooting for an R-rated film ... almost close to NC-17.
Lucasarts LIGHTSABER Game for WII? - Jun 29, 2007 - 09:20pm
"Can you imagine standing in front of your television with the Wii-mote firmly in your grasp ready to do battle in a lightsaber battle?"
Is this a rhetorical question or are you seriously asking?
F***, YES! I have imagined it since the debut of Nintendo Revolution (aka Wii).
I mean it's about frickin time LucasArts got around to do it! Unless LucasArts devote some of their resources to making another KOTOR sequel for PC, NDS, and Wii, stop making games for the other consoles (the ones I don't mention) and focus on this one.
WORLD OF WARCRAFT Movie Update - Jun 29, 2007 - 09:17pm
"Would love to see a CG version for this film, as you see in the cutscenes for Warcraft 3."
I don't think CG effect based on the videogame would be of movie caliber. It has to go beyond what you normally view on your computer monitor. It has to be "real" not "CG real."
They have to have the same designer mindset of those who tried to incorporate CG characters with live-action environment like those in TRANSFORMERS, LOTR, and STAR WARS ... even if the environment will be CG also.
Otherwise, aiming below that for such a WoW movie, it should just go straight to DVD.
"I agree, Rose is no the right person for this part. She's no Jane Fonda. I don't find Rose attractive at all." --TayDor I don't find the young Jane Fonda attractive either. Nevertheless, Rose McGowan wouldn't be my first choice for the lead role. I would have gone with her CHARMED co-star, Alyssa Milano.
