There has been no confirmation of the story, but no dismissal either.

hahaha, wrrlykam! That Extras ep was hilarious!

I hope this is all speculation and they were just , you know, having dinner. It probably had nothing to do with Superman. What hopes I had for the Man of Steel will quickly dissipate if Bloom is in it. He is more wooden than Pinnochio standing in a forest. Imagine they wanted to cast him as Zod?

ponyboy76...Bite your tongue! It will be bad enough if Zod is in Man of Steel, but even worse if Bloom is tagged to play Zod. I know all the ladies swooned at Bloom's Legolas, but he really isn't much of an actor; the PotC films, Kingdom of Heaven and Elizabethtown showed that.

I really don't understand why Singer would want to bring back Zod. Didn't he get enough shit from the fans because Superman Returns was a retread of Superman The Movie? Please give us something new! I think my idea (see my blog) would make a fine Superman movie.

I think its pretty safe to say that no one in Hollywood GIVES A FLYING F--- what us fans want. I think it's also safe to say that 99.9 or 100% of the viewers of this film DO NOT WANT TO SEE ZOD AGAIN in a Superman movie. But if Singerman wants his dream of Routh and Bloom fighting in the mud getting all dirty and wet... then thats what we'll get. Hey that ryhmed

BLOOM would work well as Zod. Ever see Kingdom Of Heaven? He was freakin awesome in that movie. All they have to do is give him the dark hair and the goatee and BOOM THE GENERAL IS BORN. I Definately would love to see Zod again but with a different story.

If not Zod then Bizzaro but thats not going to happen.

The only superhero I ever see Bloom playing is one of the WonderTwins.

Its not the worst casting I've heard of...he's been watchable in a lot of fanboy fave films. It's that Lois girl...I have no x-ray vision, yet I can see right through her acting.

I think the studio cast him because they think he is "bankable", by of way of starring in box-office blockbusters.

Bizarro, Brainiac, Metallo! SOMETHING new! There is SO much comics materials that was never tapped by the old films. The is really no reason to retread Zod before exploring these other characters. That said, IF Bloom was used in Supes2, it does seem likely he'd be Zod before any other villian. Hmm...unless maybe he'll play Krypto?
