this is the same comment and sentiment from another post...I was not interested but then I watched it and what a pile shit it was, poorly executed, bad writing and a travesty it turned out to be as far as who the academy picked for the top awards...I can't believe the Bourne won for sound, sound mixing and editing what a load of crap, compared to the other movies it was up against, it just makes me sick, f*ck the academy and all the cock suckers for there poor decision making...At least Daniel Day Lewis won for his work but other than than No blood got screwed in every other category...Anyways the show was Shit and I hope they all get alcohol poisoning at the after awards parties, If I did not say it before, what a bunch of COCK SUCKERS!

I liked no Country, Blood, and Juno. It was tough for me to side with just one.
Golden Compass for best SFX? Bah.
Jablonski shoulda been nominated for Transformers for best score. Other than that...I think the awards recognized the creme de la creme this year.

Um... didn't There Will Be Blood also win for Cinematography? Yeah... it did.

No Country was the better of the two films. If Day Lewis wasn't cast in Blood, then it probably wouldn't even been nominated as best picture.

Yeah... Transformers should've won special effects. And I thought Jon Stewart did a great job.

Well, I loved both There Will be Blood and No Country but I do think No Country deserved best picture. No Blood was an awesome movie. Hands down one of the best performances I`ve ever seen but that is what made the movie for me. No Country had a lot of other aspects to it. Not to say that Blood didn`t. it definitely did. Great story, good cinematography, good supporting cast, but Country just had that something more. Juno was a no-brainer for best original screenplay. How in the hell did Golden Compass win for best F/X? A movie with talking bears beat out pirates and robots in disguise? Really?

Awwe did PIGFORMERS not win an award for something it didnt deserve. Awwe poor Squealberg I guess that Schindlers List Oscar only goes so far like shitty cameos in Austin Powers 3. Oh yeah Pigformers has a great score, I wote it on my casio keyboard in 1988. But My old house is now a crack den in Tulsa, OK ao I guess I left it there. They don't give awards for advertisements disguised as robotic enema sacks.
Transvestites winning for best special FX thats funny hahahahahahahahahaha

Golden Compass, whats the sequel red Stigmata?

Sonyman, are you blind? I'm asking bc I can't believe someone would be dumb enough to actual think a movie that was built on visual effects (and good ones mind you) didn't deserve to win. I don't understand how a cgi bear beats out a transformer that has so many pieces that has to be put together otherwise the vehicle and the transformer vary in mass and in composition. Bourne shouldn't have won either, I'll say this when it comes to Bay he knows visual effects and sound, just goes to show you nothing is certain in the oscars. Found it puzzling that Julie Christie and Amy Ryan didn't win either that's just frosting on the cake. Would love to see a Comedy win best picture, it's been said once and it will be said a million more times...Comedies are harder to write than Dramas. I did love "No Country for Old Men," but I thought "Juno" was just that much better. Oh and Sonyman, it's good to know that there is one moron's post that can I tear apart. I mean common, if you don't like Spielberg fine, but don't be a blithering idiot. Your just one of the many that has to come on these forums and throw around your insults and think your funny as a result of it. I'd like to know how the transformers looked like pigs? I can understand that gmc was heavily advertisized, but how the hell does that have any bearing on the CGI??? LOL

Bmfstunner...You just have to get used to the way Sonyman expresses himself, he's a little hard edged in his opinions and I don't think he does it as a gimmick because this is how he's been posting ever since he came to this site, you see he is the type of guy who comes into a bar and says to the bartender give me a fucking beer as apposed to you or I who says bartender give me a beer please lol anyways I agree with you on Transformers and double agree that Bourne should have not won anything period considering it's competition in the same categories...Oh by the way expect Sony to take a bite out of your ass when he wakes up and sees your post lol...Good luck with that lol

1st off fuck you mla, don't assume you know shit about me. You hypocritical douche bag maybe if you would actually try and give reasons why I am wrong and not just personal opinions on why you don't like it may help your case. But like Hillary you don't even realize how dumb you have come off in the past. And big fuckin deal that you went to a film library in NY that gave you a degree.

And if you will watch your little kid movie aka PIGFORMERS you might pay attention to the screwed up sound sync. Unless you were beating off to She-ra again.

Well. i dont man to be a jacxkass but...
can some 1 please explain to me why the hell No country won? I almost fell asleep at the theatre when i went to see because of all the fucking stupid hype. Sure Javier did an amazing job. BUt Best Pic? Shit what a waste. I read Ponyboys explanation but its not enuff. Can someone who backs No Country please step up and explain it to me like if i was an Idiot !!!!
Thank You

ponyboy76 • Feb 25, 2008, 05:47am •
Also, not meaning to come off like an ass, but why should we?
If you didn`t like the movie, thought it was a waste, that`s cool. Its your opinion as others have theirs. Maybe someone else wants to waste their time trying to explain to you why it won and was a great movie to them, but at the end of the day, like yours, its going to be an opinion. Just because a movie wins an Oscar, it doesn`t have to be liked by everyone. Obviously the people who voted for it, thought it good enough to beat out every other movie. Doesn`t mean their right or wrong. It just is what it is. I was just trying to explain why I thought it won. I dare ask, if you saw There Will Be Blood if you thought No Country was boring?
