On his new message board at Image Comics, Brian Michael Bendis has revealed some news about the Powers film in the works.
According to Bendis, Colombia Pictures is moving ahead on the film, and is negotiating to have Frank Oz direct. Though best known for voicing Yoda and a number of Jim Henson's muppet characters, Oz has been directing films since the early eighties. His most recent directoral acheivements include Bowfinger and The Score.
Bendis, creator and writer of the comic book on which the Powers film will be based, had this to say of the choice: "I'm totally psyched for this."
Bendis'announcement is backed up by a mention of the negotiation in TheHollywood Reporter this morning. The trade article mentions that there is nostart date for the film yet.
